Description
In this Online Experience, we will stroll through the streets and alleys of Vila Madalena, a famous bohemian neighbourhood in Sao Paulo, and marvel at the amazing murals made by the best artists of this local urban scene.
We will start our walk from the basketball court of the Apprentice Alley, a perfect place to understand the origins, differences, and similarities of tagging and fine art. Next, we will go to the famous Batman's Alley, an open-air urban art gallery that transforms the area into a mandatory place to visit Sao Paulo. This area features graffiti made by some of the best Brazilian and international artists.
As we walk around, we will admire the artwork and talk about its influences, explore some hidden places and maybe, if lucky, even catch some graffiti artists at work!

Meet your Host
Renato Goes
I am a journalist and tour guide born and raised in Sao Paulo city. I completed my graduation in Journalism with an emphasis in Culture and Education and have worked as a reporter for several radios, magazines, and newspapers in the course of my career. I think my connection with the city has become strong in this period when I wrote different articles about social problems, cultural events, new urban scenes, and historical facts of this massive metropolis.
I started to work with tourism in 2013, inspired by two big events: the Soccer World Cup and the Olympic Games. I have been working as a licensed tour guide in Sao Paolo ever since, guiding in English and Spanish. My tours these days focus on the street art of the city, and I would love to show you around soon!
