The influence of three colonial nations has dramatically changed Sri Lanka socially, culturally, and economically. In this interactive Online Experience live-streamed from the Dutch Fort at Galle, I will help you find these influences as they apply to local culture and architecture. You will thus get to virtually explore the points in space and history where this beautiful old city originates. I will also amuse you with wonderful facts about how the city got its name and regale you with the thrilling story of what made - and continues to make - it such an irresistible place to be.
The tour will begin with a visit to famous landmarks such as the Sun, Moon, Star bastions and the Black Fort. We will examine some of the city's oldest buildings as we walk along the streets. This includes the Dutch Reformed Church, the Anglican Church, Dutch-period Warehouse, the Governor House, Dutch Hospital, and typical Dutch houses that are more than 150 years old.
Today Galle has a multi-ethnic, multi-religious population living harmoniously, and they have many rituals, traditions, customs, and festivals; I will help you understand these throughout this tour.

I have been working as a national tourist guide lecturer in Sri Lanka for more than 10 years and with tourHQ for three years.
