Description
An Act of Congress sanctioned the American University in 1893, and it started accepting students in 1914. It was also one of the first universities to be fully integrated and also have women join their courses. Since then, its alumni, faculty, and staff have achieved great things, including two Pulitzer Prize winners and two Nobel Prize winners. These days, in its over 160 programs, around a fifth of the students are international.
I will start this online campus tour across the street from the main campus to show you the brand new Technology & Innovation section added to the main campus. We will then see the School of International Service, which is quite popular among the students for its coffee shop. I will tell you about some of the courses offered here and the various internship opportunities available.
As I head further inside, I will show you several remarkable buildings inside the campus, like the Arts Centre and the McKinley Building; all the buildings here follow a traditional design. The American University is also one of the few universities that are a designated arboretum.
We will be surrounded by lush greenery trip throughout this online tour, and during the right season, we can even spot cherry blossom in full bloom. I will also offer you tips to find the best hangout spots near the campus and spring break destinations.
