Explore the expanse of the village without losing our breath walking over the hills. What do we mean by walking over the hills? Well, Bukchon Hanok is a traditional Korean village, with houses built on top of the rolling hills in order to maintain harmony with nature and cause as less damage as possible.
- During the Joseon Dynasty, 30 houses of noblemen were located close to the major Royal Palaces of Gyeongbokgung and Changdeokgung. As we walk around the village, your guide will give you insights into the lives of these yangbans (Korean noblemen) and show you their Giwajip (tiled roof houses).
- After the Korean War of 1950, Seoul took the path of modernisation, and everything was rebuilt from scratch. However, we can still find some traditional homes which will transport us back to that period in time.
