Walk Through The Cobbled Streets Of Old Town Lijiang and Black Dragon Pool Park
- Meet the tour guide and visit the beautiful old town of Lijiang, also known as the Venice of the East, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1997. The old town was built in the 13th century and was an important stop on the ancient tea and horse road from Yunnan to Tibet.
- We will walk through the cobbled stone streets of the old town, passing by the beautiful water canals, ancient bridges, unique buildings and courtyards. The town covers an area of 3.8 square kilometres and is home to a mixture of Naxi, Bai and Han people.
- Visit the central market to see one of the earliest squares with an auto washing system. See the ancient drinking water systems in Lijiang - the three wells from where the locals get water for drinking, washing vegetables and clothes. Learn about the local fare and street food like grilled tofu, and walk by interesting shops in town like Dongba handmade papers shops, silver making and leather making shops.
- After the old town tour, we will move to the Black Dragon Pool park, walk from the south side of the park. The first ancient building that will come to our site is the One Cent Pavilion. Then, we will walk through the 'Suocui Bridge' to the best spot to enjoy the reflection of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain and the marble bridge.
- We will continue our walk to the other side of the park and enjoy the painting and carving details of the Moon-Embracing Pavilion.
- Finally, our tour will end with a visit to the Dragon's temple and learn about its architecture and Taoism religion.
