Perched amidst the mountains of northern Piedmont, sits the stately and handsome town of Turin. Come winter and Turin becomes a jump off point for skiing in the Italian Alps, or even as a base for further exploration into the French Alps and the hotspots north of the Cote d'azur; a sport even more popular ever since Torino played host to the 2006 Winter Olympics.
