The third largest city in the sprawling archipelago of islands that make up Indonesia, Bandung is the capital of the West Java province. Although similar to Jakarta in its quirky traces of Dutch rule, Bandung has its own identity, typified by its natural wonders and reputation for finery leading to its nickname "The Paris of Java".
