I went for a conference to San Juan in January and was desperate for some real experience after sitting for hours and hours in meeting rooms. I got in contact with Hector via La 8 Surf Shop and he arranged a surf lesson on short notice for the very next day. He picked me up at the conference Hotel, took me to a nice spot and turned out to be an excellent instructor. Although I just could make 1.5 hours before returning to the conference I learn a lot. In between he took photos and even some videos, showing what I already achieved and what to improve next time. I had a great time together with Hector and I am looking forward to my next trip to Puerto Rico.

He came and picked me and my friend up from our hostel and took us surfing with his brother, both were very good teachers and helped us out a lot and took excellent photos. Overall we had a very good time surfing with them!

Hector operates a 4 door sedan with a/c that will take up to 4 guests plus himself as driver, and we found him recommended on a cruise web site. This allows him to provide a custom tour doing exactly what the group wants. We requested and received a specific hike in the El Yunque mountain followed by a drive through certain parts of PR including the beaches. Hector has excellent knowledge of all the areas and did a great job. He also provides surfing and snorkeling, and uses good locations that are safe and interesting, such as surfing locations with no rocks or coral to cause injuries.
