The success of your trip to Nepal will depend on a variety of things and your tour guide will be one of the most important aspects. Ramesh was my guide and I feel honoured to travel with him.
Our your included city guidance and hiking for several hours, so I spent 5 full days with him as guide.
Ramesh is very knowleadgable about the sites, culture and bigger picture. I found Ramesh extremely kind, attentive and personally caring. He knows the places very well. He does not become tired of explaining religions I wasn't familiar with, and didn't get stressed by all my questions. :) He is solution-oriented and more than usual supportive to his clients; e.g. when a booking went wrong, he stayed calm and polite and solved the issue professionally. Ramesh is highly dedicated to his job and he from his heart wants to make sure that you have a good Nepal experience. He communicates openly to give you a good picture of what lies ahead; e.g., he announced the week's plan in the beginning, and the next day's plan, and he mentioned that hiking roads can be dusty and with traffic. As such, I was always mentally prepared for what lay ahead of me. Both his English skills, as well as his communication and social skills are excellent. He also makes sure to enable a positive mood throughout the day, which I found reassuring. Also, it is worth noting that as solo female traveller, I felt very safe (in several aspects) with Ramesh around; and that was very important to me, personally, because i know the stories. Ramesh for the time being seemed like a good friend, and this eased my travel. I had a very good first Nepal experience, and Ramesh was a big aspect in this.
In sum, I can highly recommend Ramesh as guide. I really think there is no better guide, no offense to the others;)
