Ray Haakonsen was our guide in Cape Town for 2 weeks, he was wonderful.  He took his time with each person answering questions and telling us about the different areas that were we went.  He has a heart of gold and cared for each person in our group as if we were his family.

Ray was a wonderful guide! We arrived everywhere safely and he was a wonderful parallel parker. His personality added to the experience too. He was a fun addition to our group. 

Ray Haakonsen is an organized, gregarious, and knowledgable tour guide who significantly enhanced our overall experience. First, Ray was an efficient with his use of the group's time. He understood Cape Town and navigated a wide range of destinations--not often acccessed on tours--with great aplomb. Moreover, he was flexible when plans changed, making logical and effective itinerary adjustments as needed. Second, his effervescent personality put the group at ease. He quickly knew the names of the group members and was able to appropriately integrate himself into the group. He was kind and considerate. Third, He also provided the group members with relevant and engaging information about the various parts of the city we were passing through our headed to. As the Director of Study Abroad Programming at Union, I would not hesitate to recommend Ray for future groups.
