My family had a minor reunion in Jaffna in July 2015. My Brother's family came from the UK, my sister from New Zealand and I from Australia. One of our friends arranged Don as our tour guide from Colombo. We went to North, East and West and the inner island. Don was always there on time, couldn't help enough to make our holiday the best one. We all were so thankful to his attitude his friendliness and his preparedness always to go the extra mile. In august 2015 we celebrate our 25-year of marriage in Sri Lanka with our children of 19 and 22 at that time. We booked via a lokal agency and Don guided us througt this beautiful island. Our holiday took 18 days and every day was special. We think you definitely need a guide in Sri Lanka. Of course it is possible to go on your own but we were very happy with the guidence of Don. It was our first time in Sri Lanka and we choose to see the most of it's known places. We prepared the route ourselves in the Netherlands. We started in Colombo, and went the route: Negombo, Habarana, Trincomale, Kandy, Yala, South coast, Galle and back to citytrip Colombo. It was very impressive being in SL and seeing all the places. What our holiday made very special were our conversations with Don. He drive us around in his own comfortable van and guided us. His knowledge about Buddism and this country is impressive! During this conversations we get to know eachother quite well. We highly recommend Don as guide and driver. Driving around is dangerous so when you want to enjoy the view in stead of watching the road, you definitly need a good driver. Don is an excellent driver and we felt safe on every moment! We felt very sad to say goodbye to Don after our 18 intensive days together!
