We love Randy!

Reviewed January 3, 2018

On our recent trip to New Orleans, we signed up for a graveyard tour and got Randy as our guide.  We found his mix of historical facts and humor to be exactly the right combination for us and booked a second tour of the Garden District specifically requesting Randy as our guide.  Clearly an expert on the history and culture of New Orleans, and being a creole himself (now that we know the definition), Randy gives an engaging, entertaining, and historically accurate view into this fascinating city, incorporating personal anecdotes and his own family history. Hearing the snippets of what the other guides in the cemetery were saying to their groups as we passed by, we were so grateful to be with Randy.  If you relish the real history, Randy is your man.    No alternate facts here.

Oh, Gretchen, thank you for taking the time write this review! And thanks for bringing up "Creole." Just so the world knows what it actually means, a Creole was one who born in COLONIAL Louisiana...and their descendants. My father's mother's family came into the colony in the 1770's. I actually love when people take multiple tours with me and I hope that you'll come back because it is better to tour with one guide than it is to go with several and get conflicting information. I pride myself in being able to provide historic resources to everything I say and, sadly, there are few in New Orleans that can do that. Thanks again! Less

Top notch guide

Randy absolutely deserves the tour guide awards and recognition he has received.  He is top notch.  He is  interesting, polite, caring, funny, intelligent, fun, able to share his knowledge effectively  with  20-somethings and their parents, and knows his subject backward, forward and upside down.  His love for, and pride in,  all that makes up New Orleans is a joy to experience.  We all learned a lot AND had fun doing it! We definitely want him to be our guide again for our next visit!

Awwww....thanks, Ferne! I can relate well to 20-somethings because I, myself, am 25 years old. (I've been 25 for 34 years now! LOL) Had a terrific time hanging out with you - let's do it again, soon!

Simply Amazing

Randy was a spectacular guide!  Upon meeting us, he immediately began to give us information that was beneficial in our better understanding the history of New Orleans.  It was evident quite early on in the tour that Randy is quite passionate about not only the city he calls home, but also his job.  He finds a way to make the history relevant to all in the tour and makes it a point to add humor in his delivery.  Simply put, Randy was one of the best tour guides I've had!  He obviously loves his job and takes pride in it!  Thank you Randy!

Thank you, thank you, Eric! Although it doesn't sound like it, I'm very sincere when I say a good tour guide requires good tourists! Sometimes I end up with a group that are like the Easter Island statues and it doesn't go as well as it does when someone fantastic like you is on board! Come on bo More
