I have travelled a lot in my lifetime and I found Marcello to be the BEST Program Director/Tour Guide in all my years of travelling! You can tell her loves his job.  Never a dull moment. He must have done this tour tons of times and you think he would be bored with it. But no! You can tell he just LOVES to see people enjoying themselves and getting educated at the same time. He makes sure that everyone is happy and takes care of any problems you may have. He organized a little side trip for me, which was very much appreciated. I definitely will recommend him to anyone I know who is planning on visiting Sicily.

Marcello Torrisi made my Grand Circle Travel tour to Sicily one of the most memorable trips in my life.  He has insight into people, suberb organizational skills, and above all -- an incredible sense of humor.  If you drove by our tour bus, you would have thought it was a rolling comedy club with 38 people laughing their heads off at the stand-up comedy of this talented comedian.  But he takes his job very seriously.  He has great knowledge of history, culture, and languages.   He watches out for every person on the tour.  He wants to share his country with people, and make them want to come back.  His personal warmth is infectious.  Many of us on the tour felt he was the best guide we ever had.

Guide, Marcello Torrisi, is the best.  We traveled with him in April to Sicily with Grand Circle.  Not only is Marcello the perfect guide for the region and this particular tour, he is the perfect guide overall.  Marcello has a command of English and the American "culture" that makes him a natural in dealing with all the various personalities and "cultures" of the tour group.  He has a command of the history, culture, mores, art and culinary specialities of each region traveled, which lends a specialness to each excursion.  Marcello is extremely organized but without pressure, able to "read" the needs of members of the group and adjust accordingly.  I  have experienced many tour guides, but Marcello is by far the best.
