Samuel and I spent a morning birding on both banks of the Shire river. We saw some good birds, including some local "specials". I especially enjoyed his enthusiasm and love of birds and his encyclopidic knowledge of animals and plants.

Hi David, Thank you for your great review. I wish I had a few more days with you so that I could have learnt a lot from your previous experience and advices. I made it to Sapitwa Peak on Mulanje Mountain, am still recovering from my legs. Regards,

This is the third time I have visited Malawi and stayed at Mvuu Lodge. It is the second time I had the great fortune of having Samuel for our Guide whilst at Mvuu. He is the very best you can get for a Guide. His knowledge concerning the animals and area is second to none. He can spot elephants miles away where the rest of us struggled to see them 10 minutes later even though he told us where to look! All this wrapped up in a really fabulous person. It's an absolute fabulous experience going for a safari with Samuel and I hope at my next visit to Mvuu Lodge he will be our guide. I can't wait for my next trip hopefully in the not too distant future.

Hi Gill, Thank you very much and was wonderful to see that Crocodile with the whole Impala in the thicket during a Walking Safari. Regards, Samuel Lenard Chihana.

My family regularly visit Malawi and having travelled so far from the UK an essential part of our Tour is staying at Mvuu Lodge in the Liwonde National Park. We have visited 5 times and on 3 of these occasions have been fortunate to have Samuel Chihana as our Guide. His knowledge and experience is outstanding and because of this he makes every visit a unique, new, experience. He is so geared to the natural surroundings that he sees animals and birds that take us some time just to locate - even when he tells us where to look! His night vision is remarkable and whether it is a river safari on the Shire River, a morning game drive or an afternoon / sunset game drive no two outings from the Lodge are the same. He is eager that his clients get the very best out of the time they are able to spend at Mvuu and nothing is too much trouble for him to try to ensure this happens. Back on the treadmill we are once again saving for our next trip to Malawi - and of course the highlight of our next Tour will be the time we are able to stay at Mvuu Lodge. We are just hoping that when that time comes we will be able to have Samuel allocated as our Guide once more.
