Yucel Acik - A Superb Guide!

Reviewed December 19, 2018

My family and i (from Singapore) visited Cappadacia in late October 2018. As we wanted something personalised and rush-free, we decided to engage the customised private bus tour.

We were greeted by our guide, Yucel Acik, at our hotel and we discussed on how we could make the most of our few days in Cappadocia. Yucel is a very knowledgeable and friendly man who speaks fluent English (so communication was never a problem!). He recommended the red, green and lastly the blue tour.  Throughout our journey, Yucel made us feel very safe and comfortable. Not once did we feel rushed even when Yucel had to work "overtime" beyond the supposed tour hours. Our comfort was his top priority.

Yucel was also great with our kids (Bonus for those with young kids!) and they loved him so much throughout our 3 days together. He even offered to carry our baby backpack so that we could be handsfree during the walking trails. We're amazed by how passionate and genuine Yucel and we're grateful to know him.

We highly recommend Yucel Acik to anyone who wants to experience the beauty of Cappadacia. Keep up the great work buddy!

The best guide you could ask for!

I don't normally go for guided tours when I'm travelling, but I was in Cappadocia for such a short time that I booked Yucel via TourHQ - and I'm so glad I did!  Even though I was only there for a day, he managed to put together such a packed itinerary that I feel like I saw all the main sights and didn't miss out on anything.  The fairy chimneys, underground city, open air museum, pottery workshop, lunch, and many reviving stops for tea and cigarettes... he even managed to find me a last-minute balloon ride which was a real feat given that everywhere I had tried was already fully booked.

Yucel is a font of information about history, art, geology, you name it - I don't think I asked him a question that he didn't know the answer to - and he was not only an interesting person to spend the day with but also great fun.  I felt like I was looking round with a friend rather than a tour guide.  I would also highly recommend going on an ATV tour with him - bombing around on the back roads was brilliant and he was a very patient teacher, even when I drove us into a field!  I was lucky to find him for my trip and I would recommend him to anyone who wants to make the most out of their time in Cappadocia.
