Ahmed is a good tour guide for the Valley of the Kings in Luxor, he is knowledgeable and courteous and gave us all the time we needed although we were slightly surprised that guides do no accompany you into the tombs as this detracts from the benefit of having a guide and this is the only reason for not awarding five stars. We had visited before so booked a half day bespoke tour. We visited 3 tombs included in the general admission price of EGP 750 plus the tomb of Seti1 at an extra EGP 2000. The latter is awesome with fabulously preserved wall paintings but some might question the justification for charging almost 10x the price of individual tombs. We also visited Howard Carters house which although housing replica furniture provides useful background to the history of the discovery of Tutankhamen’s tomb of which the there is a mock up. Well worth the EGP 220 entrance fee. Ahmed also helped us with a couple of purchases. We would be pleased to have Ahmed guide us again.

Hi dear William. It was my pleasure to having you here in Luxor. We hope to see you again. Please note that generally it's not allowed for the tour guides and archaeologists to explain the tombs from inside this law is by the Egyptian minstery of tourism and antiquities!! Have a good day.
