Me and my best friend went snorkeling with Hector last week, it was perfect! I'm an open water diver, so I'm pretty experienced, and it was her first time snorkeling EVER. He was perfect for both of us! He's funny, friendly and his instruction was very helpful, especially for a first timer. She was watching fish like a pro in no time! He took us to see lots of good reef, and all the fish were beautiful. He found a lobster and brought it up to show us, then he found a huge white sea urchin! The tour was a perfect pace and ended just as we started to get tired. Afterwards, there was a little ice cream cart on the beach that had all these tropical flavors...the exact right way to end the tour!

Me and two of my friends were visiting Puerto Rico for the first time. By the way, May is the "rainy season" for Puerto Rico so try visiting another month if possible. Well we had a nice sunny day where it wasn't raining, and the snorkeling excursion through our Hotel was not offered on that day. So we looked up a few places in a booklet provided by the hotel and we found "Snorkel Puerto Rico". We called the number and got in touch with Hector. His prices were Awesome compared to the hotel and we were able to go out and meet him within a couple hours of the phone call. We met him at a nice private beach called Escabron Beach. My first impression of Hector was warm and welcoming. Me and my friends had never went snorkeling before and were quite nervous. Hector explained everything to each of us. He provided all the equipment and educated us on how to use the snorkel and flippers. He allowed us time to practice until we felt comfortable. Once we got the hang of things, we explored the water further out. Hector was very knowledgeable of the fish and the corral reefs. As anyone knows, the waters in Puerto Rico are a bit rough. He was constantly checking to make sure that we were ok and that weren't too tired. We got a chance to feed the fish and have them surround us up close. We got a chance to swim directly over the reefs and see lots of different sea life. Hector made me feel like a pro and obviously loves what he does! When I go back I will definitely be looking Hector up again!!! Awesome guy!! Thanks Hector!!

Just got back from a great snorkeling trip with Hector Nogales. Let me say first it was way more then I expected. I have snorkeled in many places and this one was the BOMB!! Hector was an outstanding guide and I can't wait for the next trip. I saw many species of fish and the antler coral was spectacular, like a garden in the ocean. I highly recommend Hector if you are ever in the San Juan area. As I mentioned, I have snorkeled in many places and safety is major concern of mine. Puerto Rico cannot ask for a better tour guide! The "island of enchantment" really came out with Hector's expertise, knowledge, and experience. We found "Snorkel Puerto Rico" in the Travel and Explore booklet last minute after plans/transportation fell through at the very end of our trip. Called the number and everything fell into place: Scheduling and logistics was easy. We were able to meet him right in Old San Juan and he took us to see some beautiful sealife and coral formations, with equipment provided by Hector. He ensured we knew how to keep the goggles clean and breathing tube free of water, continuously made sure we weren't too tired (and brings a boogie board just in case) and is always conscious of our overall safety. He even provided advice on a surf shop to visit if we wanted/needed to rent underwater camera cases. In the Tour and Explore book he even has a discount which he will take pictures or video tape the excursion for you. His Bio is right, he knows every nook and cranny of the island. Mention to him what you want to do or see and he has a spot to take you. Waterfalls, surf spots & lessons, snorkeling, you name it - he knows it and be sure you have a phenomenal experience. Hector is a genuine character and absolutely loves nature. His rates are much better than a commercial tour company and he suits the excursion for the size of the group. I definately have a new friend in Puerto Rico after meeting Hector!
