Hector's trips are so cool that so far I have gone with him twice. The first time he showed us hidden sliding rocks where we went down as if we were at a water park! Afterwards we went to a secluded beach where we could do what we wanted and Hector even showed us how to surf. Expect Hector to buy you little treats and introduce you to true Puerto Rican guisine:) The second trip we did was an amazing evening in pitch darkness. We went to these mangroves where at night you can see a world you were never even aware of. Avatar in real life! Bio luminescence! Once again this was an amazing trip. We got to see them on surf boards, paddling, being truly part of what we were seeing and experiencing from as close as possible. If you are looking for an amazing guide, Hector is you guy!

Hector approached us on the beach outside La Concha Renassaince resort on one of our last days in Puerto Rico. He was extremely kind and was very approachable. Most of the tour guides in the area were somewhat sharp/ rude when I asked about their prices/times/trips etc. Hector first gave us his card and said he provides a lot of different activities on the beach, and additionally gives tours to certain spots on the island. We almost instantly decided to rent two surfboards and Hector met us down the beach a bit where we surfed for as long as we wanted for a very low price. ADDITIONALLY (and free of charge) Hector, without us knowing, took out his DSLR telephoto camera and took pictures of me and my gf surfing, laughing, and just hanging out in the water... He then, just days after, sent us those beautiful, priceless, photos to us by email. I will cherish those photos for the rest of my life. As we took breaks from surfing he took us to a legendary hotdog stand, and we met friends and family of his. He was truly a unique tour guide. After the surf, Hector told us he does other tours and offered us a price that was much less than the tour companies on the beach to do the bioluminescent bay trip. Hector picked us up, provided all necessary equipment, and took us on his "avatar adventure" that was EPIC. Me and my gf were blown away, and having a private tour for an amazing price was a blessing. Hector and I still keep in touch today and I will DEFINITELY be coming back to PR to buy him a drink and use his services for many years to come. You don't meet good people like Hector everyday, and the fact that he walked into our vacation the way he did makes me feel like the luckiest guy in the world. I went for a conference to San Juan in January and was desperate for some real experience after sitting for hours and hours in meeting rooms. I got in contact with Hector via La 8 Surf Shop and he arranged a surf lesson on short notice for the very next day. He picked me up at the conference Hotel, took me to a nice spot and turned out to be an excellent instructor. Although I just could make 1.5 hours before returning to the conference I learn a lot. In between he took photos and even some videos, showing what I already achieved and what to improve next time. I had a great time together with Hector and I am looking forward to my next trip to Puerto Rico.

He came and picked me and my friend up from our hostel and took us surfing with his brother, both were very good teachers and helped us out a lot and took excellent photos. Overall we had a very good time surfing with them!

Hector operates a 4 door sedan with a/c that will take up to 4 guests plus himself as driver, and we found him recommended on a cruise web site. This allows him to provide a custom tour doing exactly what the group wants. We requested and received a specific hike in the El Yunque mountain followed by a drive through certain parts of PR including the beaches. Hector has excellent knowledge of all the areas and did a great job. He also provides surfing and snorkeling, and uses good locations that are safe and interesting, such as surfing locations with no rocks or coral to cause injuries.
