I spent five days with Hem in July 2015, trekking in the hills around Pokhara and I can say wholeheartedly, that I could not have hoped to have a better guide on my journey. Hem was excellent company! Not only is he a wonderful and kind person, creating amazing poetry, but also, from the practical side of things, organizing accommodations and kindly taking care of his clients in every way possible. He was a basket of information on both the culture and the nature of the area. I felt totally relaxed and trusting with him as my guide. He proved to be a very valuable guide on more than one occasion... like on one particular day when streeming water had cut off our original route and another had to be found. And Hem did so without a blink of an eye. He knows the areas around pokhara like his own backyard, which in fact they are. I can truly recommend Hem to anyone who wants to enjoy the beautiful hills and mountains without stress and irritation. Hem was our travel guide during our stay in Pokhara. We’ve used travel guides before, but usually for short 2 – 4 hour tours. This is the first time we’ve used one for several days. It really gave us a chance to get to know Hem and, consequently, to know Pokhara and Nepal much better. We hope to return to Nepal for a trek in the near future and we plan to use Hem. He’s the ideal traveling partner – knowledgeable, enthusiastic, friendly, relaxed, and flexible.

I met Raj on a trek to Annapurna Base Camp, even though i was with a separate group while trekking. Our group of 3 and his group of 5 became instant friends. Raj was a wonderful source of information about the region, from the mountains to the history to the agriculture and culture in general. He does wonderful poetry, and in true Nepali fashion was accommodating beyond compare. I truly feel lucky to have spent time with him in such an incredible area, and hope to do it again and again with him as a guide.

My wife and I met Raj while he was guiding a Dutch couple on the Annapurna Circuit this past October. As on does when hiking for several days in the same direction we became friends Raj and the Dutch couple. As we neared the top of the Circuit our group grew and Raj was gracious in welcoming us under his guiding care. He would make sure everyone had a room the guesthouse and that we were all taken care of during our stay. Even if meant jumping into the kitchen to help get things moving a little faster. He was a very attentive guide during hike of course with the majority of his attention on the couple who had hired him but he also kept an eye on everyone in our group even as it grew to 8 people plus Raj.

"Raju" was an excellent leader for our Trek to Poon Hill. Not only was he knowledgeable about the history of the areas we trekked through but he engaged us in local traditions and shared the nepalese culture with us. His character is outstanding, a person that will never be forgotten.
