Cecil accomodated us on our search for a Grandfather who was not brought home. He answered our questions and was very helpful and resourceful. Thank you Cecil for a beautiful day.

Our tour was fantastic. Cecil, our guide, arranged an interesting and full program for us, tailored to our particular interests. His knowledge of the area and its history added life to the tour and his ability to communicate his personality and sense of humor to us was highly appreciated. Highly recommend Cecil's tour.
My father and I had a truly wonderful day (over 12 hours!) with Cécil exploring the intricacies of the Meuse-Argonne offensive and Verdun and its salients, gaining both a fuller grasp of the myriad campaigns fought here and an over-arching understanding of their import in the context of the Great War.
Cécil demonstrated superb command of the names and narratives for these theatres of war without resorting to drab fact recycling. He also crafted the tour exactly to my needs, as I wanted to focus specifically on the French experience here and why these battlefields so poetically (and tragically) captured their struggle. Cécil also interwove American elements for myself and my father (a US veteran) as we explored the American Cemetary and US Army participation in the Meuse-Argonne in 9/'18. He also paced the trip well with respect to not rushing us through the individual sights (like some tours), but also in how he planned the tour. The quiet trench maze of Vauquois and its horrifying mine blasts was a great way to ease us into the conflict rather than begin in Verdun proper and the grand monuments/cemetaries. The latter can be appreciated only with the context of the former.
By the end of the tour Cécil felt like more of a friend than a guide and we all lifted a glass of Burgundy (poured into our used water bottles) to the continued, and hopefully revived, concorde and amity between his great country and ours.....just as doughboys and poilu had done by 11/'18.
Altogether I highly recommend Cécil Graf the guide and the man.
Cecil was a great guide and the experience was very informative and enjoyable.
Three of us spent two days in the Verdun area and couldn't have been happier with Cecil as a guide. He put together a full two day agenda, which covered all the main WWI sites in the area (and there are a LOT of them). He had a good sense of what we should see and why, and was flexible when we asked to make changes to the schedule to allow more time for this or that site (even happily going quite late on the first day). His knowledge was extensive and his demeanor pleasant. What I liked was that he delivered more than the facts of each site. He also added some personal perspective, which is necessary to communicate the horrors of WWI. It's clear that he enjoys his role as tour guide and WWI as his subject. I don't think I asked a single question that he hadn't thought about himself, so that he always had an answer or his own theory. Because of Cecil, we thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Verdun, saw just about as much as one could see during two days and learned an enormous amount, too.
