Superb Tour - highlight of our Trip

Reviewed May 20, 2019

Our trip to Monte Cassino was fantastic thanks to our great tour guides Sara and Enzo.

We booked our guided tour with Sara and Enzo months before we embarked on our trip to Italy, which was especially planned to follow some of the journeys of the 28th Maori Battalion through Italy during WWII.  S&E asked what we wanted to see and put a plan together accordingly, with extras suggestions as well.

We met with Sara and Enzo bang on time at our Hotel in Monte Cassino as planned, with a quick coffee and chat before we set off for the day in their car.  We started off with the Commonwealth Cemetery, Enzo showing us exactly where the New Zealanders were buried (at the front right hand corner), where we found a local Maori soldier from my home town to which we paid homage to.  Beautiful graves arranged and mantained.  Enzo's knowledge he shared with us was outstanding, pointing out where the NZ Commander Kippenberger was when he was observing and injured on Mount Trocchio.  We spent a bit of time at the Cemetery being just over an hour as we wanted to look over the entire area and  - Sara and Enzo were very patient.  Next stop we went to the German Cemetery and were very impressed with how the graves were arranged and maintained with Sara and Enzo always filling us in with the history of the fighting of the battles in the hills above us with particulary the Polish Corp that fought with so much determination and bravery.  Next stop was a quick look at a small castle half way of the mountain before heading up to the Abbey itself.

Sara and Enzo suggested we do a tour of the Abbey with one of Abbey's guides - which was well worth it as we got to go to areas that the public are not allowed to enter. The Abbey and Museum were amazing and not to be missed.

Our tour was finished off with a visit to the Polish cemetery with over a thousand warriors  buried there.  I can't speakly highly enough of Sara and Enzo, great hosts, great guides, the research and planning they had done for our trip was superb - lovely nice people who were a wealth of information.  Arohanui xx Hemi and Leigh

Indeed you were fantastic guests and this made everything easier for us. We were moved about the compassion you showed in giving your homage to the Maori fallen soldiers. We'll never forget Himi putting a stone under the ground of each Maori tomb, stones he carried from theirs and your Homeland as p More

er your ancient tradition. It was a pleasure for us to guide you among the various places which were the scenario of the battles fought by so many young soldiers to grant the new generations freedom from tyranny. Although we are living on opposite parts of the world your visit made us understand how similar is our feeling about many things. It is as the distance between our countries has become smaller. We wish you all the best for your enterprises and we hope to see you again in the future, to show you the many beautiful places we have here and their very long history. Fondest Regards to both. Tour of Amalfi, Ravello and Herculaneum

Reviewed April 23, 2019

What a wonderful team we had in Sara and Enzo!  They were not only knowledgeable, but friendly and personable.  Enzo was an excellent driver on narrow streets winding his way up to Ravello  and touring the lovely Villa Rufolo.  His expert driving made us feel save and secure.  The areas that they took us to had  breathtaking views and were rich with history.  Sara ‘s command of the English language allowed us to enjoy the historical significance of the areas we visited, especially Herculaneum .  I would highly recommend this couple as they are both excellent tour guides.  Thank you Sara and Enzo!

Fantastic Custom Tour

Reviewed October 29, 2018

We cannot say enough good things about the tour planned for us by Sara and Enzo. We had very specific requirements and they provided just what we asked. We wanted a tour that would provide an opportunity for photography, without the shopping, food and wine focus of mosttours.Sara and Enzo added their historical knowledge of the region as the tour progressed.

We had a lovely drive down the Amalfi Coast with Enzo driving. He knew just where to stop to allow for the best photos of the coast and the beautiful sights along the ocean. We highly recommend having a guide to drive because of the trafficand road congestion. We visited the most picturesque places, including Villa Cimbrone with theTerrace of Infinity.

Sara and Enzo stopped for lunch at a roadside restaurant, dining was outside, but under a roof. Delicious pizza, calzones and caprese salad. This is where the locals eat and it was wonderful.

The last part of our tour was Paestum, with three intact Greek temples. Sara’s research certainly provided much more insight than we would have had touring on our own. We were there near sundown so the light for photos was great. An absolutely stunning sight.

Lastly we went over the hills on the return to Sorrento, so we could have a view of Vesuvius and the valley lying below. The goats in the road were an added treat, just another reason to let someone else drive.

We cannot stress enough how wonderful it was to have just the tour we wanted but with the addition of the historical knowledge provided by Sara and the local knowledge provided by Enzo. All of these things contributed to a very full and very enjoyable tour. We give Sara and Enzo our highest recommendation.
