Our 4 days spent with Remzi in Cappadoccia in September 2007 were filled with caravanserai, an underground city, cave homes, monasteries, old Greek towns, Christian church history, hot air balloons, pigeon houses, fairy chimneys, and more. Cappadoccia, the center of the universe, or at least the place where all world events began, according to Remzi. His knowledge and enthusiasm for his country and its culture is extraordinary. At the same time, he was always alert to our needs and specific interests.

I've known Remzi for nearly twenty years as first a guide and now as a friend. His knowledge of Turkey and his ability to relate with his travelers has made me one of his many clients who, like me, are friends as well. My wife, son and I have traveled with him and I have taken a larger group with him as well. Both were great trips.

We met Remzi through a friend who had known him for many years. Remzi speaks English perfectly, having been a professor. He grew up in Kapadokya and knows the region and its wonderful fascinating history as well as anyone on Earth. He also knows all of the local haunts, the local artisans and the local restaurants. We can't wait to go back.

Remzi was our guide for a day in Cappadocia and then later for about five days on a road trip from Pamukkale through to Bodrum, Kusadasi and Canakkale. He was recommended to us by the owner of the excellent Kemerhan Cave Suites in Urgup, Cappadocia. I can't speak highly enough of Remzi - he is a very warm and friendly person, with excellent English and a really impressive knowledge of Turkish and Greek history. Whether it was crusader castles in Bodrum or ancient sites in Troy, Pamukkale and Ephesus, or modern Turkish historical sites like Gallipoli, Remzi really knew his stuff and took care to focus on things that most interested us. At the same time, we got to know him as a person and a friend. I travelled with my wife and seven-year-old daughter, and Remzi was a trusted and caring friend to the family as well as a guide. Anyone who is looking for a guide in Turkey will be very glad if they choose Remzi - some guides have a memorised slab of words that they roll out when they take you to places. Remzi isn't like that - he really knows what he's talking about and explanations come out naturally in conversation. I wish him all the best.

He is an excellent communicator and his English was perfect. Remzi is extremely knowledgeable about history, culture, architecture and the region’s nature. He is very friendly and conversational. Remzi has a terrific sense of humor. When we wanted to hike in Cappadoccia, Remzi knew where to go and went with us. Same with fishing or finding a good place for me to sample tripe.
