I could end this right now, but will continue to give you an idea how he brings it together for each traveler in his lucky group. His enthusiasm prior to your arrival is so heart warming. He emails you if you have a special request while visiting Sicily “which was my trip”. A short time later he calls or emails again with the information about your request and how this can be achieved during your visit. This is what personal communications with the traveler is all about. He establishes a sincere rapport with the travelers. He is instrumental in the travelers enjoying each others company. His knowledge and humor is incredible. I have not heard him say I don’t know. Shows interest in all the travelers background and homelands. If your lucky enough to have Marcello as your guide. You’ve got the jackpot! 

We were impressed with Marcello's knowledge of Sicily, his kindness, enthusiasm for his job and his concern and caring for the members of his tour group. We were very impressed with the fact that he contacted us by phone and email before leaving on the trip to ask us if he could do anything or arrange anything that would make our trip more enjoyable. Our visit with his family was the type of personal touch that we appreciated. His love of his home town Catania was infectious. We have no reservations in recommending him as a guide.

My wife and I had never been on a tour before. And unbeknownst to me she arranged and booked a 16 day tour of Sicily, to fulfill a lifelong dream of mine.First I have to say that it was a dream made real. I love Sicily. And we, Susan and I, along with our other members of the tour, fell in love with Marcello. He was knowledgeable, patient, gracious, and full of good humor. What a great way to start touring. Every day was a new adventure. Every day was filled with surprises, and satisfactions. And we learned so much. On our tour, late September/early October in 2013, Marcello celebrated his birthday. And we all surprised him for a change, made him a birthday party, and chipped in for a present as well. In 2014, Marcello came to America, and most of us were hoping that he'd come to our home town. That should demonstrate how much we loved him. The only negative is...if it can even be called a negative....we were so spoiled by Marcello, that we'll probably measure all subsequent tours and tour guides against what he did for us. As far as Susan and I are concerned, he is the Gold Standard. Would happily take any other tour he's leading. And we're still hoping that on his next trip to America, he'll stay with us here in Los Angeles

Marcello did an outstanding job guiding myself and 26 others around Sicily in Feb/March of 2014. He was extremely knowledgeable about the History past and present. We felt like a family. Since we were pasting close to his family's orange grove we stopped and tried the blood oranges which are famous in Sicily. I ws traveling as a solo and he made me feel very safe and comfortable. I would highly recommend Marcello as a guide and friend.

Marcello was one of the reasons I loved the Sicily trip. He is extremely knowledgeable and well prepared and has great rapport with all ages. I have taken many trips, mainly with Grand Circle, and Marcello is at the top of all program directors.
