Itinerary

1. Day 1: Arrival in Lusaka, the Capital City of Zambia

   • Meet the tour representative along with the driver at Lusaka’s Kenneth Kaunda International Airport. Transfer to and stay at StayEasy Hotel near the Lusaka Central Business District, about 24 km from Lusaka’s Kenneth Kaunda International Airport.
     • Boasting an outdoor swimming pool, bar, garden and free Wi-Fi, StayEasy Lusaka Hotel is situated 100 m from the beautiful Levy Shopping Mall and 1.9 km from Lusaka National Museum. The property is set 2.5 km from Northmead Mall, 4 km from Manda Hill Shopping Centre and 5 km from Castle Shopping Centre. The accommodation features a 24-hour front desk, luggage storage space and currency exchange for guests. The rooms at the hotel come with air conditioning, a seating area, a flat-screen TV with satellite channels, a safety deposit box and a private bathroom with a shower, a hairdryer and free toiletries. At StayEasy Lusaka, rooms are equipped with clean bed linen and towels.
     • Note: In case there will be no rooms available for your stay at StayEasy Hotel when you arrive in Lusaka, kindly expect to be accommodated at any other good tourism accommodation facility where they will be rooms available.
   • There are no planned activities on the day of your arrival in Lusaka. So you will check in at StayEasy Hotel and relax or visit the nearby Levy Shopping Mall if you arrive early in the day. Activities start on the following second day, early in the morning. So on this first day, your tour director will collect your insurance and next of kin details at this meeting, so please make sure you arrange a flight that will deliver you to Zambia in time.

   Kindly note that you must arrive at least on day one (1) before the tour starts off from Lusaka, which is the following day (day 2) after your arrival.
   MEALS: All your meals are prepared by our own cooks and delivered to your room for quality control and consistency purposes. We do not get meals from the lodge you are staying at except in some exceptional circumstances, and sometimes breakfast is included in the room rate. However, should you wish to eat the meals and drinks from the restaurant of the lodge you are staying at, you are free to do so and meet the cost of such meals and drinks, which you must settle in full at check-out time to the respective lodge cashier.

2. Day 2: Departure from Lusaka

   • Have your breakfast between 05:30 am and 06:50 am.
   • Receive a short briefing from the tour director on pertinent issues such as important country information and safety issues.
   • Board a comfortable overland vehicle ranging either from SUV 4x4D to an overland truck/bus. The type of vehicle to be used depends on the number of participants at any given departure date.
   • Depart from Lusaka at 06:00 am and travel southward on main Zambia’s T–1 tourist road. You will see the icon Findeco house around the Kafue Roundabout, the tallest office building complex in Zambia. Start from Lusaka and travel to the southern province of Zambia, passing through Monze.
   • Drive on the route (T–1) Lusaka – Livingstone, Zambia’s main tourist road (485.4 km), which forms the principal transportation corridor of the southern province, the tourist hub of Zambia. 
   • Reach a small roadside town of Kafue, 50 km away (its name is derived from the Kafue River, one of Zambia’s major rivers). After passing Kafue town, at 07.50 am, head to one of Zambian’s unique natural landmarks, the Kafue River and the state-of-art Kafue Road Bridge; the vehicle will slow down on the Kafue Bridge. You will have a chance to have a closer view of the Kafue River. Kafue is one of the main rivers of Zambia, the main source and water supply to the greater Lusaka city population. The tour guide will be close by to provide more detailed information on these two important landmarks.
   • Get to see some beautiful landscapes, passing through some green commercial farms, traditional African villages and schools along the way to Mazabuka at 08:20 am. Arrive in Mazabuka at 10:30 am; dubbed “the sweetest town” in Zambia since the sugar canes that are processed into edible household sugar are grown on a large scale in Mazabuka.
   • Take a tea break with light snacks in Mazabuka town between 10:30 am and 11:00 am. Depart for Monze at 11:30 am, the next town after Mazabuka. You will see large sugar plantations on the way out of Mazabuka town. You will pass a number of small village settlements along the way to Monze, approximately 72 km from Mazabuka.
   • Arrive in Monze at 01:20 pm, an agriculture town with an estimated population of 163,578 people. Have your lunch at Food Royal or Indian Restaurant in Monze town at 01:30 pm. Visit the Sama Lya Moomba Heritage site outside Monze town in Chief Choongo's area.
   • Leave for Choma at 02:00 pm, the provincial headquarters of the southern province (97.4 km from Monze). You will pass through several small villages along the way, namely Rusangu, Chisekesi, Pemba, Muzoka and Batoka, in that order before reaching Choma (the distance is 285 km from Lusaka and 188 km from Livingstone).
   • Enter Choma at 03:00 pm, a market town and the provincial headquarters of the southern province of Zambia. It lies on Zambia’s main T-1 tourist road. It is home to the Choma museum and craft centre, a museum dedicated to displaying the cultural heritage of the Tonga people of the southern province of Zambia. Upon arriving after a few minutes, tour the Choma Museum and craft centre, including the art gallery, between 03:40 pm and 04:55 pm. Undertake an outdoor tour of the Harry Mwaanga Nkumbula statue within the grounds of the Choma Museum. The late Harry Mwaanga Nkumbula is a former political freedom fighter icon who contributed immensely to Zambia’s political freedom and independence from British colonial masters.
   • Make a stopover in Choma town and spend the night in a good-level lodge.

3. Day 3: Leave for Kalomo; en-route to Livingstone

   • Receive a wake-up call between 05:30 am and 06:10.
   • Take a bath and have your breakfast. Check out of the accommodation at the same time.
   • Leave for Kalomo at 06:20 am, travelling by road down southwards on the T-1. About 3 km before reaching Kalomo, on the main road, see the Kalundu Mound, through which the road passes. This marks the site of an Iron-Age village. The mound was formed by the accumulation of debris from many centuries of occupation.
   • Arrive in Kalomo town at 08:00 am, the first colonial capital city of Northern Rhodesia (now Zambia). In 1907, Kalomo became the colonial capital centre of what was then known as North-Western Rhodesia. In 1911 it became the capital of Northern Rhodesia, what is today called Zambia.
   • Enter Livingstone between 12:00 pm and 12:10 pm, the final destination of your safari trip but the beginning of some exciting adventure and cultural activities! Between 12:30 pm and 02:00 pm, check in at any good-level Lodge (sharing) in Livingstone.
   • Enjoy yourself in the lodge bar or lounge, taking drinks at your own expense in the evening. There are no planned activities on the day of arrival. Activities start on the following second day, early in the morning.
   • 7:30 pm: You will have a well-prepared fresh, healthy dinner by our executive chef, a perfect introduction to the finest natural health foods and drinks.
   • 8:00 pm: Retire to bed. (Those interested in nightlife are free to go out to any nightclub around Livingstone city and enjoy at their own cost.)

   Note: There is always a possibility of staying at another good-level accommodation facility in Livingstone if there is no bed space at Waterfront Lodge.

4. Day 4: Livingstone Activities

   • 08:00 am – 10:30 am: Commence touring Victoria Falls; Thereafter, visit the local craft market.
   • 10:30 am – 11: 00 am: Travel back to Livingstone city.
   • 11:00 am – 12:30 pm: Visit and commence touring the Livingstone Museum.
   • 12:30 pm –13:00 pm: After touring the Livingstone Museum, you will proceed to the Livingstone city centre. You will see colonial buildings, many shops, banks and local markets. This is an opportunity for you to withdraw cash at the numerous automatic teller machines (ATM cash dispensers) for your spending pleasure in Livingstone. Buy your assortment of drinks at the famous Shoprite shop at your own cost; thereafter, return to the lodge.
   • 14:00 pm: Lunch break.
   • 14:30 pm: Take an afternoon rest in your room.
   • 15:00 pm: Leave for a short-hour tour of the National Arts Gallery of Zambia. Thereafter proceed to Mukuni village.
   • 16:00 pm: Experience the African cultural lifestyle in real-time at Mukuni village in Livingstone, Zambia. During your tour, you will be treated to an African experience where you will get to learn more about the African culture and also interact with people from the village.
   • Transfer back to your lodge for dinner and a good night's sleep.

5. Day 5: Livingstone: National Park and Adventure Activities (at your own cost)

   • 05:30 am: Wake up call and take a bath.
   • 06:10 am: You will be picked up from your lodge and proceed to Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park's main entrance. You will be required to pay the necessary park entry fees to enable you to enter the Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park.
   • 06:45 am: Commence game viewing within the Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park. You will take a mini break by the shores of the Zambezi River.
     • Do an early morning game drive and Rhino walk safari in the Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park for approximately 2 hours, which will be done in an open 4x4 safari vehicle with a qualified safari guide.
     • A game drive offers a thrilling experience to have close encounters with 3 of the Big 5 animals, namely Elephant, Buffalo, and the near threatened White Rhino, with good photographic opportunities while in the safe confines of the vehicle. This little Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park sanctuary is Zambia's smallest National park, free from predators. This, in combination with it being an area with manmade boundaries, guarantees an abundance of wildlife throughout the year. In addition to the migratory elephants, wildlife, including white rhinos, giraffes, buffalo, waterbuck, impala, wildebeest, zebra, bushbuck, warthogs, monkeys, baboons, hippos, and crocodiles, are residents in the park year-around. They inhabit a mix of riverine forest, mopane woodland as well as grassland, which also provides a variety of habitats for numerous bird species. Within this park is the Old Drift Crossing Point as well as Cemetary, where the first European settlers were buried. Historically, the Old Drift was where ox-wagons were floated across the Zambezi before there was a bridge.
     • You will experience breathtaking encounters with the endangered White Rhino whilst walking in the untamed Zambian bush of Livingstone's Mosi O Tunya National Park. You are encouraged to donate anything, either materially or financially, to the Wildlife Protection Officers who watch over these few remaining white Rhinos 24/7.
     • A videographer will capture the entire game drive experience for you. A saved soft copy on a flash will be given to you at the end of the game drive. This way, you will always be able to relive this lifetime experience all your life!
   • 09: 30 am - Exit the Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park and return back to your lodge for breakfast.
   • 09:35 am - Take your sumptuous breakfast.
   • 10:00 am - Undertake various water-related activities and other adventure activities at your own cost. Some proposed activities are:
     • Undertake Devil's pool experience at your own cost. We shall transfer you to Victoria Falls to undertake Devil's pool experience. You will pay directly to the Devil's pool ground operator and service provider. The Devil's Swimming Pool and Livingstone Island Tour is an Exhilarating and Memorable Experience. This activity is only available from the Zambian side of Victoria Falls. It is an awesome once-in-a-lifetime experience, and the operation is extremely well-managed and run.
       • Note; Depending on the time of the year, if the water levels on the Zambezi river are high, you will not be able to do the Devils Pool swimming experience for safety reasons. Instead, you will undertake yet another exciting swimming pool experience on the same Zambezi River at the Angels' Pool.
     • Undertake Bunjee jumping at your own cost. We shall transfer you to Victoria Falls to undertake the bungee jumping experience. You will pay directly to the Bunjee jumping ground operator and service provider.
     • Abseiling (at your own cost)
     • Canoeing and kayaking (at your own cost)
     • Microlight flights over Victoria Falls (at your own cost)
     • Helicopter flights over Victoria Falls (at your own cost)
     • Fishing (at your own cost)
     • Hiking (at your own cost

     • Microlight and ultralight flights over Victoria Falls (at your own cost)

     • River-boarding and river cruises (at your own cost)
   • 20:00 pm. Group farewell dinner expressing full gratitude for successfully ending this once-in-a-lifetime trip. Vote of thank you shall be offered! You will take an assortment of drinks on your own account, which you should buy earlier during the day.
   • 23:00 pm: Retire to sleep.

6. Day 6: Final Departure

   • 06:20 am: Take your last delicious breakfast and bid farewell to your newly found Livingstone friends.
   • Transfer to the Livingstone International Airport and leave for your beautiful home country or to your next tour destination.
