Travel to the Cradle of Humankind, a paleoanthropological site located about 50 km northwest of Johannesburg that contains a complex of limestone caves. Discover the oldest hominid fossils found at this UNESCO World Heritage Site. Explore the Sterkfontein Caves, a set of limestone caves located in Gauteng province, excavated for more than 62 years in total. Look at the recent discovery of the complete skeleton of ‘Little Foot’ that shows ample testament to the wealth of information that is still to be gained from the cave deposits.

Cradle Of Humankind & Sterkfontein Caves Tour
- Discover the ancient history of mankind at the very source of its origin, the Cradle of Humankind.
- Continue to the Sterkfontein caves.
- Look for the first fossil of an ‘ape-man’ skull believed to be 2.6 to 3 million years old, the nearly complete skull of a woman dubbed as ‘Mrs Ples’, found by Dr Robert Broom and the “Little Foot”, a 4.17 million-year-old almost complete ape-man skeleton.
- See the fossil deposits dating back to almost 3.5 million years ago, providing a wealth of information about the different hominid species that has ever existed.
