Itinerary
-
Day 1: Johannesburg – Kruger National Park
- Depart from Johannesburg, where our journey leads on some of the most scenic roads down to the Lowveld region of South Africa, known as Mpumalanga.
- Stop for a brunch stop in the historic town of Dullstroom, known as the fly-fishing capital of Southern Africa and notorious for the best trout dishes (the local fish species).
- Continue our journey down the Drakensberg escarpment via Abel Erasmus Pass and into the untamed Lowveld. The road will take us on a windy pass through high rising mountain cliffs and pass some waterfalls if there has been some rain.
We spend the next two nights at a lodge situated in a private reserve within the Greater Kruger National Park.
Meals Included: Dinner (Own Lunch expense).
-
Day 2: Lowveld & Greater Kruger National Park
- Enjoy an early morning coffee and rusks as we watch the sunrise in the African wild.
- Embark on a bushwalk this morning, where we experience how the animals move around and learn more about the more minor, intricate details of how everything in nature fits together. This morning we will focus on the tracks and signs that the animals leave behind as they go about their daily lives and point out any interesting facts along our walk. Our guide and tracker lead all walks. If we encounter animals on our walk, it would be a bonus as their senses are usually must better than ours. Before the heat of the day, we slowly make our way back to the lodge, where we will enjoy our brunch.
- Head out on an afternoon game drive late afternoon when it starts cooling down, which gives us an excellent opportunity to spot some remote animals. Keep your eyes open as we will be searching for some of the animals that inhabit the area. Our guides are very well trained to spot the animals and share some great info with you upon any encounter.
- Return to the lodge after our game drive and enjoy our dinner to share some stories around the campfire about the things we have seen today.
Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
Accommodation: Greater Kruger National Park
-
Day 3: Panorama view - Hazyview
- Wake up with the sun and enjoy a substantial breakfast before setting off.
- Explore the beauty of the infamous Panorama Route, stopping at most of the highlights that gave its’ name. Today, some of the highlights include the third largest canyon in the world, known as the Blyde River Canyon.
- Move on to Bourke’s Luck Potholes, Gods Window, and stop for our expense lunch in the tiny town of Graskop. The panorama route offers some of the most unique and captivating scenery in South Africa. We will spend a reasonable amount of time at each stop to make sure we enjoy what we see and get the whole experience.
- Make your way to Hazyview in the afternoon, where you will settle in for the next two nights.
