Description
Explore the vibrant town of Soweto, which is full of history, once home to 2 Noble prize winners, Nelson Mandela and Arch Bishop Desmond Tutu. Observe the iconic Orlando Towers, a power station during Second WWII, the Hector Peterson Museum and get a sense of the harsh apartheid regime from the Regina Munda Church. Also, stroll the streets of Vilakazi and curio shops for souvenirs.
Itinerary

Soweto City Tour
- Morning pick at 8 am, or 9 am or afternoon pick up at 12:00 or 13:00.
- First, stop at Soccer City, the biggest stadium in Africa. Proceed into Soweto, and our next stop would be in Deipkloof at the ''Welcome to Soweto'' sign.
- We will proceed to drive through the mansions of Soweto in Deipkloof and pass through the hostels in Soweto. We will go through Baragwanath hospital and take a detour to the informal settlement, where we will have a guided walking tour in the informal settlement.
- After the informal settlement tour, we will have a quick stop at Orlando Towers. These iconic towers used to be a power station in Soweto commissioned at the end of the second world war.
- After Orlando towers, we will drive to the most prominent Catholic Church in South Africa, Regina Munda Church. This historic Church shares sad memories about the apartheid regime. A guided tour at Regina Mundi Church will give you a better understanding of the life of the political activists during the apartheid regime.
- From the Church, we explore Vilakazi street, a world-famous street, the only street in the world with 2 Noble Prize Peace winners living in it, namely Nelson Mandela and Arch Bishop Desmond Tutu. Here we will have a guided tour of Mandela's house and get close and personal about how Mandela lived during his time in Soweto.
- After a guided tour at Mandela House, we will proceed to the Hector Peterson Museum, where we will have a tour of the museum.
- Our last stop would be shopping for souvenirs at the street markets and curio shops.
