Itinerary

1. Drive towards Paarl

   • Drive towards Paarl, through the Huguenot tunnel. 
   • The Huguenot Toll Tunnel provides a route through the Du Toitskloof Mountains, which separates Paarl and Worcester in the Western Cape, South Africa. It is South Africa’s longest road tunnel. The 3.9km long tunnel was opened in March 1988 and is 11km shorter than the route across the pass.
   • As you travel from Huguenot Tunnel towards Worcester, you'll encounter the towering peaks of the Hex River Mountains. These mountains form a dramatic backdrop to the Hex River Valley and are characterized by steep slopes, deep valleys, and rocky outcrops. The highest peak in this range is Matroosberg, which stands at approximately 2,249 meters (7,379 feet) above sea level.

2. Drive by South Africa's Western Cape

   • As you travel through this region, you will pass through valleys and ascend hills, providing ample opportunities to appreciate the scenic landscapes.
   • The journey is a means of transportation and a delightful experience for nature enthusiasts and travellers seeking to immerse themselves in the beauty of South Africa's Western Cape.

3. Drive by Hex River Mountains

   • The pass winds its way through the rugged Hex River Mountains, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.
   • Towering peaks, deep valleys, and rocky outcrops characterize the terrain, making it a popular route for travellers and tourists seeking scenic drives.
   • Along the pass, there are several viewpoints and rest areas where travellers can stop to admire the scenery and take photographs.
   • The Hex River Valley is also famous for its vineyards, and wine enthusiasts may choose to visit one of the many wine estates in the area.

4. Game drive

   • Enjoy a welcome drink and a delicious lunch with many of South African favourite dishes.
