3-Day Mekong Delta Boating and Biking Tour to Phnom Penh

• 8 am: Get picked up from your hotel in Saigon and drive to Ben Tre for about 2 hours. On arrival at Hung Vuong Pier, board a boat and cruise along the Ham Luong River, a branch of the Mekong. Stop at various local workplaces to get a picture of how the local economy works, including a brick kiln where bricks are still painstakingly made by hand, and a coconut processing workshop, where you can see how skillfully and quickly coconut shells are peeled. Learn about the different uses of each part of the coconut.

• Then, walk around the village and stop briefly at a local house, where you can see people weaving mats on a handloom - and even have a go at weaving yourself.

• Next, hop onto a motorized rickshaw for a fun ride along the quiet and beautiful country roads to Hai Ho restaurant for a delicious lunch with local specialties such as elephant-ear fish, river shrimp, and an iced soft drink or beer.

• After lunch, ride a bike to a local family house, Mr Khanh's family, where you can contemplate the antique pottery collection, enjoy coconut water, and feel the enthusiasm and hospitality of the people here.

• Then, ride your bike back to the restaurant and finish your cycling trip there.

• Get on a rowing boat and move along the natural canals. Return to the big boat and cruise back to Hung Vuong Pier. Then make your way via Ham Luong and Co Chien ferry to Can Tho, where you will check in to a 3-star hotel.

• 5:30 am: Roll out of bed, hop into the van, and drive to Phong Dien district with your Vietnam tour guide.

• 6:00 am: Board an arrow boat and cruise to the unique and stunning floating markets of Phong Dien and Cai Rang. Sit back on your boat, enjoy morning coffee served by a local coffee boat, and watch the whole world of trading going on from boat to boat.

• After saying goodbye to Phong Dien floating market, your boat will speed through the green and beautiful channels of the Mekong River, stretching alongside rural villages, before arriving at Cai Rang floating market. Here, enjoy breakfast in the style of local people with 1 TÔ HỦ TÍU, a bowl of noodle soup. Cai Rang is much bigger and more of a wholesale market, with many more large motorized boats. The next stop is a fruit orchard, where you can enjoy tropical fruit and understand more about the real life of local people.

• 10:00 am: Drive from Can Tho to Long Xuyen, with breaks en route for a short visit to a local Cao Dai Temple.

• Continue to Tra Su Conservation and embark on an arrow boat to unveil the breathtaking scenery and wildlife habitats of this sensational and unique conservation area. It is a thousand-hectare mangrove forest surrounded by paddy fields. Enjoy a short stroll around the conservation on your own and climb up to the observation deck for a spectacular view over the area, where thousands of storks and birds nest.

• Drive to Chau Doc and check in to a 3-star hotel.

• Have an early breakfast at the hotel, then get picked up by the staff of Hang Chau Boat Company and transferred to the pier.

• Then, take a speed boat to Phnom Penh via the Vinh Xuong checkpoint. The boat departs at 7:30 am and arrives in Phnom Penh at around 12:30 pm.

Service ends at Chau Doc pier by 7:30 am.
