Itinerary

1. Day 1: Arrival in Tunisia

   • On arrival, you will meet with our esteemed representative.
   • They will help you clear any formalities.
   • Then, they will transfer you to your booked hotel for overnight.

   Accommodation: Belvedere Fourati Hotel

2. Day 2: Tunis, El Jem, Matmata, Ksar Joumaa Exploration

   • After breakfast, depart to El Jem via a short city tour of Tunis.
   • 'El Jem' is a well-preserved Roman amphitheater.
   • Next, head to Matmata, an ancient troglodyte village.
   • Visit a local host and enjoy a cup of rosemary tea served with olive oil and honey to tide you over until lunch.
   • Later on, head to Ksar Joumaa and settle in your room.
   • Dinner and overnight at Ksar Joumaa.

3. Day 3: Ksar Ghilane and Douz Adventure

   • Visit the breathtakingly beautiful Ksar Ghilane.
   • Enjoy scenic views as you travel along the Roman road, and keep an eye out for flocks of sheep and even camels.
   • Upon arrival, take a swim in the thermal spring nestled amid a grove of date palms.
   • Relax completely in water that’s warm enough to be utterly soothing yet still offers respite from the desert heat.
   • Next, enjoy some free time to take a walk on the dunes, go for a camel ride, or explore the dunes on a quad tour before sitting down to a local meal around the hot spring.
   • After lunch, return to the jeep and continue to Douz, the gateway to the desert.
   • Here, you will have time to take a camel-ride or go on a quad tour in the dunes.
   • Stroll through the Douz souk and watch the sunset before heading back to your hotel for overnight and dinner.

4. Day 4: Exploring Tozeur and Star Wars Locations

   • After an early breakfast, start your visit with the Dune Sea, the Krayt Dragon Ridge, and the location of the igloo of Lars Family Homestead exterior on the Chott El Jerid.
   • The location was also used in Attack of the Clones and the final shot of Revenge of the Sith.
   • Continue across Mides and travel to ‘Star Wars canyon’ where 9 scenes were filmed including: when the Jawas were attacked and buried, Jawa Rock, and the scenes of the Tusken Raiders.
   • Return back to Nefta and travel to the Mos Espa film site beautifully located amongst the Sahara dunes.
   • Here, find the Pod-racing arena, the Mos Espa streets, Watto’s shop, market, and Sebulba’s Café.
   • East of the set, you will find the Yardangs, where the Jedi fight between Qui-Gon and Darth Maul in Episode I was filmed. It was also the location of the Queen’s Royal Starship.
   • Finish the tour with a look at Ong Jemel ‘the neck of the camel’ where Darth Maul arrives on Tatooine and releases the Sith Probes. After finding Anakin and Qui-Gon, Darth Maul is seen flying over the cliffs.

5. Day 5: Mountain Oasis Tour in Tozeur

   • Discover breathtaking scenery and experience complete tranquility on this journey into 3 of Tunisia’s most famous oases.
   • After getting picked up from your hotel in Tozeur, begin your journey to Chebika, a Berber village with a Roman past.
   • Follow the walking path along the river which will lead you to a mountainous river source and climb up the small path between the rocks to admire the panorama that extends beyond Chott El-Gharsa.
   • On the way back, cross the old village ruins, where only one old man still lives.
   • Sitting in front of his house, he spends his time weaving containers, made of palm foliage, for tourists.
   • Feel free to engage in conversation with him and learn more about daily life in Chebika from both him and your local guide.
   • From Chebika, head to Mides to admire the famous landscapes and sample the region’s famous dates.
   • Experience a feeling of refreshment and wellbeing as you wander through the picturesque village, through the oases and the canyons.
   • Next, head to Tamerza, a beautiful oasis situated along a canyon that will take your breath away.
   • Cool off from the intense Tunisian heat by taking a dip in the crystal-clear waters that cascade from the canyon.
   • Finish your day in the mountains with a walk around the old ruined village, where only the mosque is restored.
   • Get dropped off back at your hotel in the evening.

6. Day 6: Journey to Gafsa and Kairouan

   • Today you will head to Kairouan.
   • Kairouan was established in 670 AD and flourished under the Aghlabid Dynasty.
   • Visit the Great Mosque of Kairouan, the Aglabits Bassins, and Sidi Sahbi Mausoleum.
   • Spend some time exploring the Kairouan Medina.
   • Enjoy a typical Kairouan lunch.
   • Return back to your hotel of accommodation later.

7. Day 7: Departure from Kairouan to Tunis

   • Free day and transfer to the airport according to flight schedules.
