Katherine Whitley has been in the tourism industry for 30 years.She is an International Tour Manager contracting with several of the U.S.-based Tour Operators.She has worked on most of the cruise lines with large groups.She is a tour guide in San Diego working with Conventions, Meetings, and incentives through DMCs.She also works as a Travel Director with Meeting Planners.Her broadband of skills and years of experience gives her an edge in the variables of this industry.Katherine was invited to Vietnam to train their tour guides.She taught at the Learning Annex, Travel University International in San Diego, and is now an author of a new book “Camels to Caviar”.The book is based on her travel and touring experiences and the psychology of travelers.Katherine’s Liberal Arts background led to international interest.Extensive travel overseas has provided the opportunity to study and develop in modern anthropology, psychology, and inter-ethnic communications worldwide.She grew up in Canada and the Midwest, lived briefly in Nepal finally settling in Southern California.Katherine’s travel expertise includes Alaska, Asia, Africa, the South Pacific, South America, India/Nepal, Tibet, Cambodia and Vietnam, and Afghanistan.When not working, she still takes off for treks in the Himalayas, discovering new destinations and personal cruising.Her interests include skiing, scuba diving, photography, Kayaking, paddleboarding, collecting Asian Art, Gastronomy, and Motivational Psychology.
