Itinerary

Meeting Point
- We will be meeting on the plaza in front of Abravanel Hall, home of the Utah Symphony.

Abravanel Hall to Union Pacific Station
- From Abravanel Hall we will head West on South Temple Street towards the historic Union Pacific Station.
- We will go past the Delta Center (home of the NBA Utah Jazz and NHL Utah Hockey Team) and the Devereaux Mansion.

Gateway Mall
- From Historic Union Station we will continue our walk along the Gateway Mall towards the historic Rio Grande station.
- This area is the old warehouse district which was redeveloped in an outdoor mall in 2000.
- Some remaining architecture is reminiscent of the heyday of the transcontinental railroad.

Pioneer Park to Main Street
- The walking tour heads East along Pioneer Park towards Main Street.
- Some of the must-sees on this stretch of the tour are the Greek Orthodox cathedral, Squatters Brewery, and the historic Peery Hotel.

Gallivan Center
- As we head north on Main Street, the commercial heart of the city, we will swing by the Gallivan Center, which used to be part of Salt Lake City's red-light district in the late 19th/early 20th century.
- Along the way there are some Instagram-worthy street art and murals.

Gallivan Center to Temple Square
- From the Gallivan Center, we continue north towards Temple Square via City Creek mall.

Temple Square
- No tour in downtown Salt Lake City would be complete without a getting a glimpse of Temple Square.
- We will walk the perimeter of Temple Square.
- Notable stops are the Lion House, Beehive House, Eagle Gate Monument, Joseph Smith Memorial Building (formerly Hotel Utah), Assembly Hall, and the LDS Temple.
- Time permitting, we may attend the organ recital at the Tabernacle.
Please note that Temple square is undergoing renovations and unannounced detours may occur.

- From Temple Square we'll walk to where our tour started (Abravanel Hall) and this is where the walking tour ends.
