Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival
- At Entebbe Airport, you will be greeted by a tour representative. From here, you will be taken to Kampala and then to Kasese Town before continuing to the foothills of the Mountains of Moon.

Day 2: Nyakalengija
- Travel to Nyakalengija (1646 meters) early to begin your mountain ascent. The trip follows the Mubuku River and passes through the dense equatorial rainforest before reaching the Nyabitaba lodge (2650 meters). Chimpanzees and blue monkeys may be heard or seen.
Stay at Nyabitaba hut for dinner and stay.

Day 3: John Matte Hut
- After an early breakfast, you will begin your journey through the Kurt Sharfer Bridge to admire the glistening Mubuku River confluence. You will arrive in the afternoon. Approach the Nyamuleju hut, from which you can get a good view of Mount Stanley and Speke. Hike through open spots, lobelia, and heath moss forest to the John Matte cabin (3415 meters) for an overnight stay.

Day 4: Bujuku Hut
- Early departure past enormous Lobelias and heath trees. You climb to the Bigo Bog, which has beautiful scenery with lobelias and gigantic groundsels.
- You will pass by Lake Bujuku, which sits gloriously between the famed mountains.
- Continue to Cooking Pot Rock Shelter, your final destination for the day—Bujuku Hut dinner and overnight (3960 meters).

Day 5: Elena Hut
- Continue ascending Mount Victoria and Speke at 4890 meters, leaving the valley with spectacular alpine plants such as Giant Groundsels and Lobelia. Leave over beautiful views of the Savoia and Elena glaciers, continue through the snow to the Scott Elliott pass, and then to the Elena Hut (4560 meters) for an overnight break. The Elena Hut will serve as your home base for the last ascent of the Rwenzori Mountains.

Day 6: Final Ascent to the Africa Alps
- Early morning ascent to the icy Alexander mountain (5092 meters) and then to the highest peak, the famed Margherita at 5109 meters. Following that, we immediately descend to the lovely Lake Kitandara for the night Kitandara Hut is a great place to stay (4020 meters).

Day 7: Guy Yeoman Hut
- A long descent begins after an early breakfast. First, we climb from Lake Kitandara to the Fresh Field Pass, from which we can see the neighbouring Congo. We will stop for a picnic lunch before continuing to the Guy Yeoman cabin (3260 meters) for dinner and overnight.

Day 8: Nyabitaba Hut
- The final stretch of the hike! Descend the Mubuku River and rejoin the old route near the Bujuku River—Nyabitaba Hut for dinner and overnight (2650 meters).

Day 9: Kasese
- Today we will descend to Nyakalengija, which will take about 2-3 hours.
- Next, we go to Kasese and check into the Hotel Margherita. You can unwind and reflect on your ascent of Uganda's highest peak here.

Day 10: Departure
- A final chance to marvel at the enthralling peaks of the Mountains of the Moon. You will bid your goodbyes and depart for Kampala with unforgettable recollections.
- Then, make your way to Entebbe Airport for your nighttime departure. You might stay in Uganda longer and explore other magnificent national parks.
