Itinerary
-
Day 1 - Arrival
- You will be welcomed by a representative who will transfer you to your hotel in Kampala.
- Depending on the arrival time, our guide will take you on a city tour for an exciting introduction to the capital.
- Visit some interesting and historical sites, including the Kasubi Tombs, Namugongo Martyrs Shrine, the Uganda Museum and, of course, the African Craft Village. We also advise you to have your money changed.
-
Day 2 - Kampala – Jinja
- After early breakfast, you will leave the capital city and head towards Jinja, the origin of the mighty river Nile.
- On your way, you will have a stop at Mabira Forest. Hikers will enjoy a walk through this beautiful forest, with different primates, birds and butterflies.
- There are many options this day, including a visit to the Source of the Nile, the Bujagali Falls, floating down on the challenging rapids and relaxing on the shores of the Nile.
-
Day 3 - Kagulu Hill
- Visit Kagulu Hill on day 3. This was the first settlement area for Basoga of Bunyoro origin, led by Prince Mukama. Although unfamiliar to many outside Busoga, Kagulu Hill has breathtaking scenery that gives a clear view of the entire Busoga. Kagulu Hill is unique in the attractions it offers. It is the only hill in Uganda that has been adapted for tourist climbing, with constructed steps to make it easy for visitors to access the top.
-
Day 4 - Budhumbula Shrine/ Palace
- On day 4, you will visit the Budhumbula Shrine. The site comprises a shrine and the residence of the former Kyabazinga of Busoga, 1Sir William Wilberforce Kadhumbula Nadiope, who died in 1976. The shrine, covered by beautiful marble, consists of graves of other various members of the royal family, such as his father and mother, Yosia Nadiope and Nasikombi, respectively.
-
Day 5 - The Source of the Nile
- Day 5 is for knowing and visiting the source of the river Nile. The Source of the Nile, the second longest river in the world, marked by the discovery of one of the first European explorers, John Speke, is an internationally unique attraction. The tranquillity and splendour of both Lake Victoria and the River Nile embody great memories for any visitor.
- You will next visit Bujagali Falls, among others, such as the Bujagali ancestral site for the Basoga ancestral spirits at Bujagali falls, which includes the numerous rapids along the Nile, virgin nature across the region, and the culture of the people and the great Lake Victoria.
-
Day 6 - Departure
- Enriched with an experience of a lifetime and unforgettable memories, you will say goodbye to the Pearl of Africa.
- Depending on the departure time, you might have time to spend in Kampala and shop for a souvenir. (Or leave early for Entebbe and visit the Uganda Wildlife Education Centre for a last meeting with the beautiful flora.)
