Itinerary

1. Day 1: Arrival in Kigali and transfer to Bwindi impenetrable forest

   • Meet and greet with the company representative and continue to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest for two nights, home to over half of the world’s mountain gorillas.

   • Interact with these gentle giants and experience what Africa offers. Bwindi is home to a lot of mammals plus bird species.

   • Upon arrival at the lodge, you will get to freshen up, relax, have dinner and get ready for the next day’s gorilla trekking.

   Overnight at the lodge on full board basis

2. Day 2: Gorilla trekking

   • Enjoy an energizing breakfast and embark on your gorilla trek.

   • Report to the ranger station before 8 am for registration and briefing by one of the rangers. The Bwindi Forest guides will then lead you through the undergrowth, parting thick creepers, to track the gorillas.

   • The trek can take anywhere from an hour to 7 hours – a reasonable degree of fitness is required as well as a sturdy pair of walking boots. It is an extraordinary feeling sitting in the dense rainforest knowing you are with a few of the last remaining mountain gorillas. Spending time with the gorillas in their natural habitat is an unforgettable experience.

   • Later in the afternoon, if time permits, there are a range of optional activities to engage in. These include Batwa (pygmy) community trail, village walk, waterfall hike, curios shopping, to mention but a few.

   Overnight at the lodge on a Full board basis

3. Day 3: Canoe boat ride on Lake Bunyonyi and Transfer to Kigali for flight home

   • Depart Bwindi Impenetrable Forest for Kigali, passing via Lake Bunyonyi for a canoe boat ride on the Lake. You will get to visit the different islands on this beautiful lake.

   • Having lunch en-route, you be transferred to the airport for your flight home.
