Itinerary

1. Day 1: Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

   • The tour starts in Kigali or  Kampala with a pick-up from the hotel or airport. Our knowledgeable driver guide takes you through the whole safari and then starts travelling to Bwindi, an impenetrable national park. From Kampala to Bwindi, it roughly takes nine hours of a comfortable ride, enjoying the beautiful scenery.
   • We will stop over at the Uganda equator for pictures and the water experiment. We will also stop in Mbarara town for lunch. From here, we will proceed straight to the park, arriving in the evening for dinner and an overnight stay.

2. Day 2: Gorilla Trekking and Batwa Community Visit.

   • Gorilla trekking starts very early in the morning, at 8 a.m., with a simple briefing from the local ranger guide at the park headquarters. Then, set off for the park headquarters with your packed lunch. At the station, be divided into groups of eight trekkers, the maximum number of trekkers allowed to visit a gorilla family per day.
   • Gorilla trekking takes about 1 to 6 hours into the impenetrable forest, depending on the apes' movements or the trekkers' speed. You will spend one magical hour in the apes' presence, watching them carry on their daily lives as you learn about them.
   • After lunch and some relaxation, visit the Batwa community in the evening. This is a community for the forest pygmies, who were the first inhabitants of the impenetrable forest before they were resettled outside the park. You will enjoy traditional performances as you get close to the local people. Return to the lodge in the evening to prepare for departure the following day.

3. Day 3: Departure to Kigali or Kampala .

   • After breakfast, check out of the lodge and start a return transfer to Kampala or the nearby Kigali. That will be the end of your three-day tour in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The journey gives you more spectacular views of the Kigezi highlands and lush vegetation.
