The itinerary

1
Day 01

Arrival and Arusha National Park Safari

  • Depart Arusha at 09.00 am for a 30-minute drive to Arusha National Park.

  • Participate in a half-day walking safari and a half-day game drive. An armed ranger will accompany the walk and guide you through the forest up to the waterfall and the viewpoint for black and white colobus monkeys. During the game drive, see the 7 Lakes of Momella and the Ngurduto Crater.

  • At sunset, return to the camp or lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

2
Day 02

Arusha to Tarangire National Park

  • Leave the lodge or camp at 06.00 am and drive for about 90 minutes to Tarangire National Park.

  • This park is often referred to as the "home of elephants," and you have a great chance to spot elephants in large groups gathering around the Tarangire River. Other animals to be spotted include leopards, lions, giraffes, and even tree-climbing pythons.

Dinner and overnight will be at the lodge or camp.

3
Day 03

Tarangire to Serengeti National Park

  • Get up for an early breakfast at 6.00 am.

  • Enjoy a game-viewing drive en route to Serengeti National Park with your Tanzanian safari guide. Serengeti is the largest and most famous park in Tanzania, known worldwide for its endless plains, wildebeest migration, herds of lions, and other predators such as hyenas, cheetahs, and leopards. Crocodiles can be found in the Grumeti River, as well as hippos, giraffes, antelopes, and gazelles.

Dinner and overnight will be in the heart of the Serengeti at the lodge or campsite.

4
Day 04

Full-Day Game Drive in Serengeti

  • Enjoy a full-day game drive in Serengeti and see predators chasing their prey and enjoying their kill.

  • Serengeti is undoubtedly the best-known wildlife sanctuary in the world, unequalled for its natural beauty and scientific value. Have a game drive across the endless plains of the Serengeti for a chance to see the great herds of wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles, or a pride of lions lounging in the shade.

Dinner and overnight will be at the lodge or camp.

5
Day 05

Serengeti to Ngorongoro via Olduvai Gorge

  • After breakfast, go for a morning game drive in Serengeti National Park with a picnic lunch.

  • Later, depart for the Ngorongoro Crater Rim via the pre-historic site at Olduvai Gorge.

  • Enjoy a short stop at Olduvai Gorge, the famous archaeological site where the Leakeys discovered remains of Australopithecus, Homo habilis, and Homo erectus. It has an amazing landscape that resulted from the tectonic forces that created the Great Rift Valley millions of years ago.

Dinner and overnight will be at the rim of the crater at the lodge or campsite.

6
Day 06

Ngorongoro Crater to Lake Eyasi

  • After breakfast, descend into the crater in the morning for a full day of game viewing in the Ngorongoro Crater. There is a very high possibility of spotting the Big Five in one day: lion, rhino, elephant, buffalo, and leopard.

  • Eat lunch at the picnic site on the crater floor.

  • In the afternoon, drive to Lake Eyasi for dinner and an overnight stay at the camp or lodge.

7
Day 07

Lake Eyasi Hadzabe Experience to Lake Manyara

  • Early in the morning after breakfast, go hunting with the Hadzabe tribe (Bushmen). The Hadzabe foragers live in the Lake Eyasi area and are among the greatest attractions in the Northern Circuit due to their primitive but exciting lifestyle. Experience the culture of the real Bushmen!

  • Later in the afternoon, drive to the top of the Great Rift Valley for an overnight stay with a view of Lake Manyara at the hotel or campsite.

8
Day 08

Full Day in Lake Manyara National Park

  • Spend a full day in Lake Manyara National Park, famous for its green scenery, varied birdlife, tree-climbing lions, hippos, and baboons.

  • The lake occupies a large area of the park, and the forest begins just after you cross the park gate along the base of the Great Rift Valley, with hot springs to the west of the park.

Dinner and overnight will be at the lodge or campsite.

9
Day 09

Lake Manyara to Mto wa Mbu and Arusha

  • In the morning, after breakfast, enjoy a short cultural tour at Mto wa Mbu village.

  • Drive back to Arusha, where you will arrive in the early afternoon and be dropped off at the hotel or airport.
