Itinerary

1. Day 1: Kampala to Bwindi

   • You will be picked up by our guide/driver at 7:30 am from your hotel or place of residence in Kampala. Drive to Mbarara (283km from Kampala) via Masaka. 
   • Make the first stopover at the Equator for having some snacks and photography. Proceed with a visit to the Igongo Cultural Village and see the Ankole museum here. 
   • Have lunch at Agip Motel Mbarara. Then, drive to Bwindi, the lushest highland rain forest on earth and home to more than 400 gorillas, primates and exotic birds, valleys, hilltops and papyrus swamps.  

   Have dinner and stay the night at Buhoma Community Rest Camp (Budget facility). 

   Meals: Lunch and Dinner

2. Day 2: Bwindi Gorilla Trekking

   • Begin the day with breakfast and get ready for gorilla trekking, which begins at 8:00 am with a briefing from the UWA staff.
   • Ensure to carry along with you a rain jacket, drinking water, snacks, jungle boots etc. The guides will lead you inside the jungle to see the shy primates. Take your lunch boxes and all the necessary gear to track the rare Mountain Gorilla, perhaps one of the most exciting wildlife experiences on earth. 
   • Track the gorillas for about 2-6 hours and then go for the Buhoma Village walk in the afternoon that will give you a great opportunity to see how the people live here. The walk begins with your guide at Buhoma Haven Lodge who will lead you through the village. It will amaze you how resourceful the local people are as you see and learn their ways. 

   Have dinner and stay the night.

   • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

3. Day 3: Bwindi to Kampala/Entebbe

   • After breakfast, drive back to Kampala with a stopover for lunch midway. 
   • Continue driving to Kampala/Entebbe to catch your evening flight back home.
