Itinerary
-
Day 1: Tarangire National Park
- In the morning you will be collected from your Arusha or Airport by our personal safari guide.
- We set out for Tarangire National Park on a good tarmac road across gently rolling Masai plains with scattered acacia trees.
- As we zip along we pass many Masai in their colorful dress walking on the roadside, riding bicycles, herding cattle, and driving donkey’s carts. Tarangire National Park, well known for its large elephant herds, is also host to a multitude of other creatures.
- From the open roof of our state of the art safari jeep, we experience the seasonal swamps, savanna, and life-giving Tarangire River endeavoring to encounter a multitude of creatures from zebra to wildebeest, buffalo, elephant, and giraffe, to name but a few.
- It is possible we will glimpse lion stalking prey or leopards watching, relaxing in the trees above.
- After a full day in the park we will drive to the excellently appointed lodge where we enjoy dinner in the aesthetically delightful restaurant, relax, and spend the night in her capacious rooms.
-
Day 2: Ngorongoro Crater
- Rise and shine! It is an early departure to the lush highlands of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
- Once you have reached the crater rim, you will drive down a steep track into the 600 m deep caldera to see a range of animals and birds. The caldera (collapsed volcano) is home to over 25,000 mammals ranging from the “Big Five” (lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino, leopard) and more than 500 species of birds.
- After an extensive game drive and a picnic lunch in the crater, you will return to Karatu for overnight.
-
Day 3: Lake Manyara National Park
- Early in the morning, after breakfast, you will drive to Lake Manyara National Park, a journey of approximately 2 hours.
- Upon arrival, embark on a game drive through the park’s diverse habitats, where you can spot zebras, impalas, monkeys, giraffes, buffalos, hippos, warthogs, and other wildlife.
- Marvel at the pink flamingos along the lake’s edge and enjoy the breathtaking scenery of the Great Rift Valley.
- After a picnic lunch, continue your exploration before exiting the park in the afternoon.
- You will then drive back to Arusha, where your safari concludes with a drop-off at your hotel or the airport for your onward journey.
