Itinerary
-
Day 1 - Arusha - Tarangire National Park
- After breakfast, depart to Tarangire National Park. Tarangire has a diverse landscape with nine scenic vegetation zones. It also houses the giant baobab trees in Africa. The Tarangire River that passes through the park attracts abundant wildlife, from elephants, lions, leopards, buffalos, zebras, giraffes, and antelopes to various colourful birds. The park is highly famous for having the most significant elephant population in Tanzania.
- Stop for a picnic lunch at an observatory inside the park where you will be able to observe animals drinking water in the river (and many times lions attacking a thirsty zebra or wildebeests).
Return to the hotel for dinner & overnight.
-
Day 2 - Lake Manyara National Park
- Pick up from your hotel and embark on a beautiful journey across the Great Rift Valley for Lake Manyara National Park to enjoy an exciting full-day game drive. The park has marvellous scenery and is famous for its lush acacia forest, giant figs, mahogany trees and a growing population of baboons blue monkeys.
- This park has a large number of giraffes, elephants, impalas, buffaloes and hippos.
- Admire the tree-climbing lions, flamingos in the lakeshore, the Ground Hornbill and the Crested Eagle. The game drives along the lake provide attractive photo opportunities of giraffes and buffaloes in the foreground with the lake (and its flamingos) in the background.
Dinner and overnight.
-
Day 3 - Serengeti National Park
- After an early breakfast, drive towards the most famous National park in the World, the Serengeti, via a picturesque route. You will drive up the crater highlands, with a quick stop at the rim for a fantastic view of Ngorongoro Crater.
- As you progress forward into the Serengeti, you will see why the name means "endless plains" in the local language. The park has 6,900 sq. miles (18,000 sq. km), the plains will stretch to the horizon, defying your sense and perception of distances. It is the home to 2 million wildebeests, hundreds of thousands of zebras and all kinds of antelopes, like the abundant impalas and Thomson's gazelles. We can also spot lions, cheetahs, leopards and hyenas here.
-
Day 4 - Serengeti National Park
- Enjoy a morning game drive and get back to the camp for lunch and relaxation.
- Proceed with an afternoon game drive, or you can also embark on a full day game drive with a picnic lunch.
Dinner and overnight.
-
Day 4 - Serengeti National Park - Ngorongoro Crater
- Wake up early to do an early morning safari before breakfast, spot the animals when they are more active and have a fantastic sunrise in front of you. Sunrise in the African Savannah is one of the most amazing experiences one can have.
- After the game drive, get back to the camp for brunch, followed by a transfer to Ngorongoro, also known as the 8th natural wonder of the World. Having walls that are 2,000 ft high and a crater floor that spreads for 102 sq. miles, the crater inhabits almost every wildlife species indigenous to East Africa, including the rare black rhino. The crater has the densest collection of wildlife on the planet. It contains a river, several swamps, a soda lake full of flamingoes, a forest and open plains. The giant bull elephants that reside here have enormous tusks due to the rich mineral content of the volcanic soil and its grasses.
Dinner and overnight.
-
Day 6 - Ngorongoro Crate - Arusha
- After breakfast, descend 600 m into this magnificent crater for a morning game drive. Ngorongoro Crater is one of the densest African wildlife areas globally and houses an estimated 30,000 animals, including some of Tanzania’s last black rhinos. Supported by a year-round water supply and fodder, the Ngorongoro Crater supports a wide variety of animals, including herds of wildebeests, zebra, buffalo, eland, warthog, hippos, and giant African elephants. Another big drawcard to this beautiful national park is its dense population of predators, including lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs and the ever-elusive leopards, which sometimes requires a trained eye to spot.
- Enjoy a picnic lunch in the crater.
- Later, slowly head out of the crater and drive toward Arusha town.
