Itinerary
-
Day 1 - Tarangire National Park
- After breakfast, depart to Tarangire National Park. It has a diverse landscape with nine distinct vegetation zones. The ancient Baobab trees (the largest trees in Africa) overshadow the landscape, dwarfing the animals that feed beneath them. The Tarangire River attracts abundant wildlife, from elephants, lions, leopards, buffalos, zebras, giraffes, and antelopes to various colourful birds. The park is famous for having the greatest elephant population in Tanzania.
- During a safari, you will have the chance to quietly observe many families of elephants interacting, with a stop for an amazing picnic lunch at an observatory inside the park where you will be able to spot animals drinking water in the river (and many times lions attacking a thirsty zebra or wildebeest).
Return to the hotel for dinner & overnight.
-
Day 2 - Serengeti National Park
- After an early breakfast, drive towards the most famous National park in the World, the Serengeti, via a picturesque route. You will drive up the crater highlands, with a quick stop at the rim for an amazing view of Ngorongoro Crater.
- As you progress forward into the Serengeti, you will see why the name means"endless plains" in the local language. The park has 6,900 sq. miles (18,000 sq. km), the plains will stretch to the horizon, defying your sense and perception of distances. It is the home to 2 million wildebeests, hundreds of thousands of zebras and all kinds of antelopes, like the abundant impalas and Thomson's gazelles. We can also spot lions, cheetahs, leopards and hyenas here.
Dinner and overnight.
-
Day 3 - Serengeti National Park
- Go on a morning game drive.
- Return to the camp for a refreshing lunch and proceed for an afternoon game drive.
- You can also go for a full-day game drive with a picnic lunch.
Dinner and overnight.
-
Day 4 - Serengeti - Ngorongor Crater
Today, you will wake up early to do a morning safari before breakfast. Spot the animals when they are more active and see a fantastic sunrise in front of you. The sunrise in the African Savannah is one of the most beautiful experiences one can have.
After the game drive, the direct drive to the Ngorongoro crater descends 600 m into this magnificent crater for a morning game drive. It is one of the most densely crowded African wildlife areas globally and is home to about 30,000 animals, including some of Tanzania’s last remaining black rhino. Supported by a year-round water supply and fodder, the Ngorongoro Crater supports a wide variety of animals, including wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, eland, warthog, hippo, and giant African elephants. Another plus point to this picturesque national park is its dense population of predators, including lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs and the ever-elusive leopard.
Dinner and overnight.
-
Day 5 - Lake Manyara National Park - Arusha
- Pick up from your hotel and embark on a beautiful journey across the Great Rift Valley to the famous Lake Manyara National Park for a full day game viewing. Although small in dimension, the park has breathtaking scenery. It is famous for its lush acacia forest, giant figs and huge mahogany trees, and a growing population of baboons blue monkeys. Permanent residents of this park also include giraffes, elephants, impalas and a large number of buffaloes. The lake is also home to a huge number of hippos.
- Some unique things about this park include the tree climbing lions, flamingos in the lakeshore, and the Ground Hornbill and the Crested Eagle. The landscapes of Lake Manyara can not be described in words. The game drives along the lake provide beautiful photo opportunities of giraffes and buffaloes in the foreground and the flamingos in the lake background.
- Later drop off Arusha or Kilimanjaro Airport.
