Itinerary
-
Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire National Park
Leave from Arusha in the morning and travel to the Tarangire National Park, where you can marvel at the two-storey high termite mounds and the “upside-down” giant baobab trees. The amazing scenery and a variety of birdlife assist in creating an unequivocally beautiful ambience in the Tarangire National Park. Apart from being the home to over 300 African elephants, the park is also famous for common sightings of African lions, giraffes, toothy warthogs, ostriches, impalas, agile cheetah, mongoose, water buffalo, and red-bottomed baboons.
When your game drive comes to an end, transfer to Fanaka Campsite, where you get comprehensive camping facilities.
-
Day 2: Tarangire National Park to Serengeti National Park
After a delicious breakfast at the camp, set out for a game drive via the scenic route to Serengeti that allows an amazing bird’s-eye view of Ngorongoro Crater. There is a high possibility of spotting game such as lions, zebras, elephants, and more here.
Stop for a picnic lunch on the most famous kopje (a small hill in a generally flat area) in the park, allowing a panoramic view of the vast Serengeti from atop the hill.
Post lunch, proceed further into the Serengeti for a leisurely game drive where you will likely view herds of giraffes, elephants, and zebra.
After the full day game drive, proceed to the Nyani Camp for an overnight stay.
-
Day 3: Serengeti National Park
- Start your day in the center of the majestic Serengeti.
- After a nourishing breakfast, continue your journey into the plains. Since you have a full day of game driving, you will likely view a number of animal species that find their home within the Serengeti’s endless plains. This day will likely offer sightings of the African mammals that make the park famous- cheetahs, leopards, lions, elephants, and water buffalo - all within a few feet of the jeep.
- Have a chance to view some of the park’s lesser-known but equally majestic animals, including hippos, gazelles, crocodiles, elands, giraffe, hyenas, baboons, zebras, monkeys, rhinos and antelope. Depending on the time of year, there is also a chance to view thousands of zebras and wildebeests during the Great Migration. The hundreds of bird species, both endemic and migrating from the Eurasian region, are a special bonus for bird-watchers.
- Return to the camp for a delicious dinner and a relaxing overnight stay at the campsite.
-
Day 4: Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro Crater
Today is the last game drive in Serengeti. After enjoying the game drive for one last time in the Serengeti National Park, proceed to Ngorongoro Crater with your Tanzanian safari guide.
As you reach the rim of the crater, which is considered ideal for watching the gorgeous sunset over the vast Savannah, check in to the Simba Camp for dinner and an overnight stay at Simba Camp.
-
Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater to Lake Manyara National Park
On this day, after breakfast, depart for the Ngorongoro Crater early in the morning, as that is the best time to spot game, especially the “Big Five”. The group comprises some of the strongest animals in Africa – the ferocious lion, the mighty elephant, the stealthy leopard, the charging rhino and the strong water buffalo.
Enjoy a leisurely game drive in the morning and have a picnic lunch near a pond full of hippos inside the crater. The crater was formed millions of years ago when a large volcano erupted, collapsing the volcano but leaving a perfectly unbroken crater. The crater is also the home to flocks of graceful flamingos lounging at Soda Lake and vultures and hawks eagerly circling the sky in search of a hearty meal of discarded carcasses.
Conclude the game drive shortly after lunch and begin the drive to camp.
Dinner and overnight stay at the camp.
-
Day 6: Lake Manyara National Park to Arusha
On the last day of the tour, experience the beauty of Lake Manyara National Park.
Enjoy an early breakfast, in order to start the game drive early enough to spot the Big Five. Nestled at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment, Lake Manyara National Park provides picturesque yet varying scenery.
Have your picnic lunch in the heart of the beautiful park. Soda Lake and the surrounding Savannah support the highly diverse ecosystem, leading to the diverse array of wildlife to be viewed within the park.
In the late afternoon, leave Manyara and proceed to Moshi to conclude the safari.
Enjoy the beautiful scenery as you drive past Masai bomas, baobab forest, and rolling Savannah plains en-route to Arusha.
End of the tour.
