Itinerary

1. Day 1: Tarangire National Park

   • Depart from Arusha in the morning. After a short briefing, head towards Tarangire National Park. This park features savannahs, baobab trees, and seasonal swamps, known for its large elephant herds. Observe various mammals like giraffe, bushbuck, hartebeest, zebra, and warthog, as they gather around the Tarangire River. The park is also home to buffalo, zebra, and wildebeest, often followed by predators like lions. Leopards are occasionally spotted, but cheetahs are rare. Enjoy the landscape and wildlife from the open roof of the safari vehicle. In the late afternoon, leave the park and head to the nearby Kizumba campsite for an overnight stay.

2. Day 2: Tarangire to Serengeti National Park

   • After breakfast, continue towards the fertile highland where wheat, coffee, and corn are grown by the Iraqw people. Pass through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, viewing the Ngorongoro Crater. Proceed to the Serengeti National Park, the largest park in Tanzania, featuring diverse landscapes like grassy plains, swamps, lakes, savannah, and mountains. Witness the incredible wildebeest and zebra migration, depending on the season. Spend the night at the Nyani campsite in the Seronera area of Central Serengeti.

3. Day 3: Serengeti National Park

   • After breakfast, head towards the Serengeti National Park via the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Descend into the heart of the Serengeti with its vast plains. Arrive at the Seronera area, rich in wildlife, with the Seronera River attracting various species. Enjoy an afternoon game drive in the Serengeti National Park and stay overnight at a camp.

4. Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater to Manyara

   • In the early morning, descend into the Ngorongoro Crater. Explore the crater floor with its open grassland, acacia trees, and wooded areas teeming with wildlife. Look out for the "Big Five" - lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino, and leopard - along with wildebeest, zebra, gazelle, warthog, hippo, and numerous bird species. Spend the morning exploring the park and have a picnic lunch in the crater. Return to Mto Wa Mbu in the early evening for dinner and overnight at Kizumba campsite.

5. Day 5: Lake Manyara Back to Arusha

   • Drive to Lake Manyara National Park. This park is a haven for bird enthusiasts, hosting over 400 bird species, including flamingos, pelicans, storks, and cormorants. Spot various mammals like bushbuck, waterbuck, wildebeest, zebra, baboon, monkey, lion, and leopard. Enjoy an unhindered view from the open roof of the safari vehicle for photography. After an extensive game drive, leave the park in the afternoon and return to Arusha.
