Day 2: Mto Wa Mbu to Serengeti
After breakfast, drive from Mto Wa Mbu to Serengeti which takes six hours (includes all stops) as it transits through the Ngorongoro conservation area. Briefly stop at the gate and viewpoint to look at the breathtaking view of the crater for 20 minutes.
Visit Maasai village, which is optional to visit and explore the culture of the great Maasai tribe known for chasing lions of their kill and hunting lions to be considered a warrior, drinking raw animal blood. However, these traditions are a thing of the past except drinking blood; you can surely learn something. The duration of the visit will range from 20-45 minutes.
Enter the Serengeti National Park, which is enormous as it covers 14,750 square kilometres (5,700 sq. mi). The park is famous for wildebeest & zebra migration (over 1.5 million wildebeest & 250,000 zebras), being in a strategic partnership for their survival. Your focus will be the Seronera area (centre of Serengeti).
Arrive in the late afternoon & after taking your lunch, do a game drive in Seronera till late evening and see the sunset in Serengeti while having a close view of wild animals. You are lucky enough if you come across a predator hunting or on a kill.
Later, head to Katikati tented camp for dinner & overnight stay.
-
Day 3: Serengeti National Park
After an early breakfast, go on an early game drive seeing a lot of animals till the afternoon after which you will head to the camp for lunch and packing.
Exit the Serengeti, and head to Ngorongoro rhino lodge on the rim of Ngorongoro crater, which will take 2 hours to reach.
-
Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater, Ngorongoro Conservation Area, Arusha Region
After an early breakfast, descends the crater (6:15 am) on a journey to find the black rhino, rhinos are the hardest to spot in the beautiful crater as most animals will be easier to spot from this park due to it being a floor crater.
After lunch, you will do a game drive and ascend the crater. Pack for the trip back to your hotel in Arusha or Airport (in case you have a late flight).
- If you don’t have a late flight, you will be taken to the airport the next day(s).
