The itinerary

1
Day 01

Arusha to Lake Manyara and Wildlife Viewing

  • Depart from Arusha in the morning for Lake Manyara National Park. This captivating park is situated at the foot of the Great Rift Valley escarpment. Due to its distinctive habitats, the park supports an extensive number of species. The shores of Lake Manyara are often obscured by the pink hues of flamingos, and the park is home to over four hundred bird species, with exotic birds frequently migrating to this sanctuary.
  • Expect to see Cape clawless otters, buffalo, elephants, Egyptian mongooses, hippos, giraffes, and impalas. Lake Manyara National Park also has the largest concentration of baboons in the world.
  • Enjoy a picnic lunch inside the park. In the afternoon, proceed to the Fanaka Campsite, where comprehensive camping facilities are available.
2
Day 02

Journey to Serengeti National Park

  • After breakfast, depart for Serengeti National Park.
  • Pass the crater rim, where there is a slight prospect of spotting some game. The Serengeti is currently categorized as one of the Seven Natural Wonders of Africa.
  • Stop for an enticing picnic lunch on a kopje (rock outcropping).
  • After lunch, continue your game drive deeper into the Serengeti to complete the day's tour. The Serengeti Camp will provide comprehensive camping facilities.
3
Day 03

Morning Game Viewing in Serengeti and Transfer to Ngorongoro

  • Begin the day in central Serengeti and spend the morning viewing the game. This is one of the best times to witness the food chain in motion, as predators prowl the Serengeti in search of their next victim.
  • Observe hyenas viciously fighting for the remains of the previous night's kill, while fresh tracks help your guide track down animals. The Serengeti is Tanzania's oldest game reserve. Its vibrant wildlife includes the African hedgehog, leopards, hippos, buffalo, elephants, the greater bushbaby, wild dogs, lions, zebras, crocodiles, rhinos, antelopes, monkeys, chameleons, and baboons. Many birds migrate here from regions of Asia and Europe. Seasonal change and the migration of the herds both affect the wildlife you spot.
  • Depart for Ngorongoro.
  • Shortly after, lunch is served in the park.
  • Arrive at Simba Camp near the crater rim in the late afternoon.
  • A palatable dinner will be served in the evening.

Day 04

Ngorongoro Crater Game Drive and Return to Arusha

  • Depart the campsite early, as this is the best time to spot game in the Ngorongoro Crater.
  • Enjoy a delicious picnic lunch inside the crater. Millions of years ago, the crater was a massive volcano, and specialists reckon it would have been taller than Mount Kilimanjaro. The lofty composition of the crater encourages animals to remain within its walls, which is advantageous for anyone hoping to spot each representative of the Big Five. Other enticing species include zebra, hippo, wildebeest, and hyenas. The blooming fauna and flora within the crater are remarkable and undoubtedly why the Ngorongoro Crater is known as Africa's Garden of Eden. Storks, geese, and flamingos are always close to Soda Lake. Your guide will use impressive skills to locate hidden animals.
  • The game drive will come to an end in the late afternoon.
  • Proceed to Arusha.
  • Arrangements for transportation to the airport can be discussed.

Know before you go

  • The climb up Kilimanjaro should always be taken seriously because of the risk of altitude sickness in all its forms: Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS), with its more severe variants of High Altitude Cerebral Edema (HACE) and High Altitude Pulmonary Edema (HAPE). Because there is less oxygen in the air at altitudes over 8,000 feet, your body cannot take in as much oxygen as it needs, which can result in AMS. Symptoms of mild AMS can vary between individuals and include:
    • Headache
    • Nausea and vomiting
    • Dizziness
    • Tiredness
    • Loss of appetite
    • Shortness of breath
  • We provide camping equipment, including tents, sleeping mattresses, tables, and chairs. We also provide all cooking equipment for the safari.
  • If you need to rent equipment such as sleeping bags or other gear, let us know in advance.
