Description

Embark on a two-day adventure exploring Lake Chala and Arusha National Park. Hike to the shores of Lake Chala, a vibrant crater lake near Mount Kilimanjaro, surrounded by elephants and diverse wildlife. In Arusha National Park, visit the picturesque Momela Lakes and the Ngurdoto Crater, home to giraffes, buffalos, and warthogs. Enjoy game drives and a scenic picnic, before concluding your safari with a transfer to the airport.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive at Lake Chala

Morning
- Meet your guide at the hotel for a briefing.
- Head to Lake Chala, near Tsavo National Park.
- Enjoy a scenic drive with views of large herds of elephants migrating between Kenya and Tanzania.
- Explore the stunning Lake Chala with its turquoise to deep blue-green waters, fed by underground streams from Mount Kilimanjaro.
- Hike down steep crater walls to the lake’s edge for breathtaking views.
Afternoon
- Enjoy a picnic lunch at a serene spot near the lake.
- Wildlife sightings include blue monkeys, colobus monkeys, baboons, dik-diks, and kudus.
- Optional swimming near the shore.
- Evening: Return to accommodation at BruBru Lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Arusha National Park - Airport

Morning
- After breakfast, meet your guide for a briefing.
- Drive to Arusha National Park, which is famous for its varied terrain and abundant wildlife.
- Explore the park’s top features: Mount Meru, Momela Lake, and Ngurdoto Crater.
- Enjoy a morning game drive, spotting animals like elephants, giraffes, zebras, and buffalos.
Afternoon
- Picnic lunch in the park.
- Continue with an afternoon game drive to Momela Lakes and the Ngurdoto Crater.
- Spot animals like warthogs, antelopes, blue monkeys, and possibly leopards or hyenas.
Late Afternoon
- Depart from the park for the airport, concluding your safari adventure.

Know Before You Go

This tour starts and ends in Arusha.

The operator can help select your international or domestic flights, but you must book them yourself.

Fly to/from Kilimanjaro Airport (JRO - check price) near Arusha. Or fly to/from Arusha Airport (ARK - check price) via Dar es Salaam or Nairobi (Kenya).

A transfer from and back to the airport is included.

Additional accommodation before and at the end of the tour can be arranged for an extra cost.
