Itinerary
-
Day 1: Transfer from Arusha to Tarangire
Meet your safari manager in Arusha and drive to Tarangire, Tanzania's third-largest national park and sanctuary for an unusually large elephant population. Enjoy packed lunches en route to the national park.
Set out for a game drive in Tarangire, where majestic baobab trees dot the scenery, dwarfing the animals that feed beneath them. You will find a vast concentration of wildlife along the Tarangire River, which provides the only permanent water supply in the area and affords sightings of lions, leopards, cheetah, and - of course - elephants aplenty.
Enjoy dinner and stay overnight at camp accomodation in Tarangire.
-
Day 2: Tarangire to Serengeti
Enjoy an early breakfast and drive down to Serengeti National Park via the Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority. On the way, the driver will stop for travellers to explore the beautiful views overlooking the crater.
Continue driving via Olduvai Gorge, "the cradle of mankind", and the site where anthropologists Marry and Louis Leakey significant discoveries regarding remains of the first human species.
Enjoy a hearty picnic lunch after crossing the border.
Begin game viewing en route until you reach the Seronera campsite, situated in the center of the park.
After an exciting game drive, return to camp for an overnight stay.
-
Day 3: Serengeti Game Drive and Transfer to Ngorongoro
Enjoy early morning breakfast and set out for a game drive and game viewing in Serengeti National Park. Expect to see lots of animals as the park, spread across 14763 sq km of rolling land. It is home to abundant lions, elephants, giraffe, wildebeest, zebra, leopard, cheetah, warthogs, hyena, and various birds species. Depending on the year's time, one can also witness the great migration at Serengeti, where millions of wildebeest and zebra can be seen mingling or being chased by predators.
Enjoy a picnic lunch in the park before resuming your game drive.
Later, drive down to Ngorongoro crater rim for an overnight stay.
-
Day 4: Ngorongoro to Arusha
After breakfast, descend the crater floor (600m) for game viewing with a picnic lunch. Ngorongoro, with the largest intact volcanic caldera in the world, is one of the great wonders of the world, with an exceptionally high density of animal populations.
Get a chance to spot black rhino in their free surroundings, as well as lions, zebra, wildebeest, hyena, jackal, cheetah, leopard. Birdwatching enthusiasts will be delighted by abundant birdlife, including pelican, red flamingos, turtles, fire-finch, and many more. Some may be lucky enough to spot the big five inside Ngorongoro Crater.
In the afternoon, ascend the crater walls and drive back to Arusha.
