Description
Lake Manyara, famous for its tree-climbing lions, and the Ngorongoro Crater, the largest intact volcanic caldera in the world and the home of the highest density of wildlife in East Africa, serve as a great introduction to the majesty of the Serengeti National Park. Take it all in, and then venture out on foot on a walking safari from Ikoma Wild Camp. This is as close to the wilderness as you can get and a unique way to experience the savanna. This adventure is a special offer and comes highly recommended.

Day 1: Lake Manyara | Highview Hotel
Pick up from Moshi/Arusha and drive to Lake Manyara National Park for game drives; this takes about 3 hours. After having a picnic lunch in Manyara, you start a late afternoon game drive, the best time to view animals in this park. When you approach it from the east, the Rift Valley escarpment looms on the horizon, forming an impressive backdrop to the lake. In the tall trees of the groundwater forest, monkeys leap from branch to branch, and on the escarpment, elephants stand in the shade. Overnight at Highview Hotel.
