Itinerary

1. Day 1: Arrive at Airport

   • Arrive at the airport.

   • Drive to the hotel.

   • Get trek briefing from the head guide about climbing.

   • Prepare equipment for camping and meet local team.

   Overnight at the hotel with full board accommodation.

2. Day 2: Arusha - Marangu Gate - Mandara hut

   • After breakfast, drive to Marangu gate.

   • After getting the permit for entrance and meeting the team (guides, cook, and porters), weigh the luggage and start trekking for 4-5 hours to Mandara.

   Overnight at Mandara hut with full board accommodation.

3. Day 3: Mandara hut 2700m - Horombo hut

   • After breakfast and pack everything and depart for Horombo hut. 

   • On the drive, if the weather is clear, get wonderful views of Kibo, Mount Meru, and Mawenzi mountain.

   • Stop midway to have hot lunch. 

   Overnight stay at Horombo hut with full board accommodation.

4. Day 4: Horombo hut

   • Full day at Horombo.

   • Walk around the hut to acclimatize.

   • If the weather is clear, get wonderful views of Kibo, Mount Meru, and Mawenzi mountain.

5. Day 5: Horombo hut - Kibo hut 4702m

   • After breakfast, move to Kibo hut; the zone is savannah and desert.

   • Have hot lunch at the campsite.

   Stay overnight at Kibo hut with full board accommodation.

6. Day 6: Kibo hut - Uhuru (Kibo) 5895m - Horombo hut 3720m

   • After dinner, sleep early.

   • Wake up at midnight for the final preparation and take a cup of tea with a biscuit.

   • Begin to walk slowly (pole in Swahili).

   • Since the area is steep, climb in a zigzag motion for 6-7 hours to reach the summit.

   • Enjoy the wonderful view of the sunrise, see Mawenzi mountain, Usambaa mountain, Mount Meru.

   • After spending some time at the summit, go back to camp (3-4h for descent) for a short break and take a full breakfast.

   • Pack everything, and continue to descend (4h to Horombo hut).

7. Day 7: Horombo hut - Marangu gate 1800m

   • After breakfast, depart towards Marangu gate to meet the driver for transfer back to the hotel.

   • Certificate distribution.
