Description

Embark on a thrilling safari at Hell's Gate National Park, Lake Nakuru National Park & Masai Mara National Reserve, do exciting game drives, and see various game animals, including the Big 5, zebras, wildebeests and giraffes. Also, spot fabulous birds species such as vultures, Verreaux's Eagles, augur buzzard, swifts and flamingos, and if you time your tour right, you might see the Great Migration at Masai Mara!

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Lake Naivasha
- Pick up from the airport and drive to Lake Naivasha with a stop by Hell's Gate National Park.
Dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Lake Nakuru
- Early morning pick up and then drive to Lake Nakuru National Park.
- Arrive in time for lunch, then have an afternoon game drive.
Dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Lake Nakuru to Masai Mara
- Do an early morning drive to the Masai Mara National Reserve.
- Arrive in time for lunch and proceed for an afternoon game drive.
Dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Masai Mara
- After breakfast, we have a full day of game drives with packed lunch provided.
Dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Masai Mara to Nairobi
- Wake up at 6 am for a sunrise game drive.
- At 9 am, we drive back to accommodation for brunch.
- Depart for Nairobi. Lunch en-route and arrival in Nairobi in the late afternoon.

Know Before You Go

This tour starts and ends in Nairobi.

This operator can help select your international flights, but you'll have to book them yourself.

Fly to/from Jomo Kenyatta Airport (NBO ) in Nairobi.

A transfer from and back to the airport (or hotel) is included.

Possibility to upgrade to more luxurious accommodation (at an extra cost) or downgrade to more economical options (price reduction).

Additional accommodation before and at the end of the tour can be arranged for an extra cost.

A 5-day safari visiting Hell's Gate, Lake Nakuru and Maasai Mara. Lake Nakuru: Enjoy the fabulous water birds and other bird species. The best place to view the birds is from Baboon Cliff, where you get an excellent view over the lake and the wonderful spectacle of pink flamingos along its edge. Maasai Mara: The Masai Mara Game Reserve is one of the best places in Africa for wildlife viewing. Game drives are a great way to experience the park, and they take place all year round.

Masai Mara: It holds on as one of the few places left on earth where wildlife still lives comparatively undisturbed, in the numbers that once roamed the plains and forests of Africa. As the northern tip of the vast Serengeti ecosystem, the Mara hosts the spectacular seasonal migration of many thousands of wildebeest, zebras and attendant predators. The reserve is well known for its black-manned lion, as well as its abundant resident wildlife, and it's one of the few places where it's possible to see the big five during a morning's game drive. Many of the cheetahs are so tame they seek shelter from the hot sun under one's vehicle, and several even climb onto the roof to get a better view of prospective prey. For the bird enthusiast, almost 500 species have been recorded: among these 16 species of eagle, plus many hawks and falcons, 6 species of vultures, 8 species of storks, 4 of bustard (including the Kori bustard, the world's heaviest flying bird), and 9 species of sunbirds.

Lake Nakuru National Park: Across the equator, southwards of Bogoria, lies the rift valleys most famous lake Nakuru. Known all over the world for its flamingos, its alkaline and is recognized as being one of the natural wonders of the world. Lake Nakuru is now a rhino sanctuary, harbouring a population of over 40 black and over 60 white rhinos, but the flamingoes, of course, have always been the main attraction. At times there may be almost 2 million flamingoes in the residence, forming a stunningly beautiful deep pink band around the edge of the lakeshore.

Hell's Gate National Park: The park, which is mainly comprised of the savannah ecosystem, harbours a wide variety of wildlife. There are over 100 species of birds in the park, including vultures, Verreaux's Eagles, augur buzzard and swifts. African buffalo, zebra, eland, hartebeest, Thomson's gazelle, and baboons are also common. The park is also home to klipspringer antelope.
